Hey everyone. I have finally gotten my vx to run after programming the ecu to the bcm. Only one problem now. The car will start from the key SOMETIMES. What I mean by this is there is power but when I try to crank it over nothing happens. Then if I wait a bit and try it cranks? It does this even when ice cold. No immobiliser light flashing or anything. Maybe something to do with the key? Thanks guys

Try moving the shifter to neutral.

Give the key contact a clean and also the slip ring around the ignition switch with some steel wool

Yeah I’ve tried all that. Still it only cranks sometimes. It’s completely random too. Sometimes it’ll work for 30mins straight and then not work for a bit.

Could a bad key battery be a cause? Or anything with the BCM?

A dead key won't help, does it lock/unlock the car via the remote.

Hard to be sure without diagnostic software.

Try getting in the car, close the door, put the key in the ignition, then lock and unlock using the key remote and then see what it does.
