Oh and while I'm in this forum...

About 2mths ago I made the decision to downgrade the cam that was fitted during my V6 to V8 conversion. A few reasons...hated the high idle and l just wanted the car to have as close to OEM drivability as possible. Not into the lumpy cams or high dyno numbers.

So about 5 weeks ago I did the swap. Went from a 224/230 .608 (both) @ 114LSA to a Crow 203/219 .551/.556 114

I was very surprised at how easy it was to do and as I already had dual springs and upgraded trunions, the heads didn't need to come off. I Used the old 5/16 dowel rods to lock the lifters during cam removal/refiitment

So after a few weeks of tuning, she is now an absolute joy to drive.

Another thing I did do was remove the following modules and send down to LsXtreme to get re-linked. This was due to programming issues I found after the conversion.

Inst cluster, ECU, ABS, HVAC, BCM, Airbag unit and both keys.

I can't recommend Mathew enough from LsXtreme. Everything now works as it should.

Edit: Tuning was carried out using HpTuners, AEM X series wideband along with lots of valuable tuning knowledge by Jason from Street Tuned Performance

Milling 101: What I learnt today...

Thin slitting sawblades are useless on steel, they tend to shed teeth...

Slot drills should be limited to 1mm depth of cut, anymore and they burn up...

Carbide insert face mills are great for rapid material removal on steel.
Brilliant at turning steel into red hot sparks that cause the operator to rap dance around the milling machine...

That's good for some stuff (like engine and transmission parts) but paint markers are good for suspension **** and under car stuff (like marking eccentric bolt orientation).

All my old ones are dried out :(

Stop calling it Hammerbarn. I have to think what you mean every time I hear you call Bunnings that. You're the first and only person I know who calls it that. Before you mentioned it, not so long ago, I'd never heard of the term.....

Coz all your acronyms don't have people guessing what the hell you are on about.
