ironically i had a 590 sent to me when I had a broken one, it did not work so I returned it.

if it helps i used online wreckers and did eventually find the one I needed, but this was a while back.

If it also helps you can get these reconditioned, they slice the lid off and redo the connectors. (there are ridiculously thin wires - think human hair). But they normally do like a reco swapout not reco your unit.
i Looked at injectronics, but they can only repair, they dont have one to give me >.< i have found one but it hasnt been tested so it could be faulty too. i have someone chasing up one for me in QLD

vs commodore
Have a question for you, just had my A/C regassed but the compressor wont cut in when the intermittent abs module fault lights up. i am chasing one now, but i have been told the ABS module shouldn't be the cause as they are on different circuits?
any thoughts?
i do know when the fault kicks in my temp gauge also doesn't work
Unplug the ABS should work just fine, but you will have the warning lights on, no traction or abs till you replace it.

yeah saw it and promptly bought it :) Thanks heaps, its now fixed, going to buy a brand new one with next tax return

no need mate, just keep the used one. if it's lasted this long there's a good chance it'll keep going.

Hi all,

Been a while since I've been on any car forums, struggled to remember the password here and then also the email I'd used at the time for a reset LOL.

Have struck the problem talked about here with the dash going skitzo with all the alarms and warnings, unplugging the ABS module cable seems to reduce that down to just an ABS & traction fault, so looks like its probably the module that's a bit suss in the VY SS. When it goes skitzo the temp guage also stops and the AirCon doesn't seem to work, all expected by the sounds of it.

Removing the module and looking underneath shows its currently using a '0273004962', is anyone aware of any of the others being a suitable replacement ?

Cheers,

Jim.....

it's possible it's interchangeable with 389 and 590 as I know for a fact you can use both on the VX 5.7
