Can anyone tell if I change my head unit series 2, will I lose my H.U.D ?

It very much depends what you’re installing, some products don’t support the H.U.D.

There are no products that I’ve ever heard of that retain full H.U.D. functionality, for example I’ve not seen any replacement head unit (including the ones that cost $3k+) that will show the SatNav directions on the H.U.D. But I think some can now show the current speed-limit.

Grant, what's the goal in mind for changing the head unit? Better audio or more features like CarPlay/Android Auto?

Look up Import Road over there... They have a good system that uses the Aux input on the radio and allows for touchscreen to use it.

The only thing you lose is the steering wheel skip track functionality because it's the Aux connection. At least that's what I remember from talking to them.

you could try this from kayhan, you keep your original mylink and this adds a box to allow carplay.
just keep in mind we have not had a review of it here yet so we dont know how well it works.

Far as I know they're quite similar. There's a company in Korea or China (I forget which) that makes various boxes. One acts as a touch screen controller, the other works as the carp play part.
