Cheers.

Whenever I ask this question people often say no or can’t understand why I am asking.

When I cammed my last Calais it got a lot louder. I kept my DPE mufflers specifically for this reason
Haha. I think from memory you're in Sydney you're welcome to come and check it out if you're worried or anything!

Cheers mate. I’m ok with my choice.

What exhaust system did you / do you have?

Xforce 3"
1 3/4 with 200 cell cats just to help the smell a bit.
Varex Mufflers which contrary to popular opinion I think are amazing.
Then again I didn't have bimodal stock.

Did it get considerably smellier post cam?

I’ve got 1 3/4 with 100 cpi and Difillipo. Already a bit smelly but I think tune is a bit rich.

Where in Sydney are you?

Near Kogarah.
Cold it's definitely smellier.

As an update after going on a few drives, it's definitely gotten much better. While the pushing is there, it's very mild and eminently acceptable. Quite happy with it now. Just gotta get used to the overlap now - my gut reaction is that something's wrong with the car! Stuck in sydney traffic peak time, no issue picking up kids etc from school.

Also a byproduct of the rebuild. Previous to the work, I thought I may have had a rear main leak as the sump & the trans inspection port was always damp, but never dripping, with engine oil. But it seems the front timing cover had a very slight leak as there was a large build up of oil on the timing cover just under the crank seal which was obscured by the harmonic balancer.
Replaced the seal and joy, sump is bone dry.

Hopefully final post to this.
Here's a vid all tuned and nice. Skip to the end for the best part imho
Sounds really good!

Looking forward to the slightly milder version in mine!
