How low is too low for standard shocks?

Hey guys, looking to lower my SV6 sedan, i've spoken to a shop here in WA near where i live and they quoted me $490 for ultra low king springs on standard shocks. Are ultras too low for the standard shocks to handle? If so, how low could you go? SL, SSL? Cheers!

Alloytec oil catch can - how to install?

Hey guys, just to confirm, even though I'm 99% sure - this is the PCV orifice and connector correct? Did you guys just pull it off the orifice and attach the outlet hose of the can directly onto the connector piece or did you cut the connector off?

Alloytec oil catch can - how to install?

Actually, no, excuse the noobiness I seem to be over-complicating the plumbing. I think i understand now, just to double-check: The above diagram is showing how the first can you explained should be installed (Between the PCV and the t-piece). The second can should be plumbed between the...

Alloytec oil catch can - how to install?

Cheers mate! Do you have to use 2 cans or is there a way to do it with just one, doesn't really matter either way. just curious.

Alloytec oil catch can - how to install?

Looked inside my intake piping yesterday and found a fair bit of oil residue :( Can anyone tell me or preferably show me with pictures how to plumb in an oil catch can for a 195kw Alloytec? I'm confused as to which hoses to use and can't seem to find a thread with pictures of an alloytec engine...

    VE cruise control fix?

did that fix the problem mate? I'm sceptical as to whether or not it is the stalk as I'm still able to turn cruise control on while at a standstill

    VE cruise control fix?

Hi guys I own a VE SV6 and have got a problem with my cruise control. Basically, at a standstill i.e just after I've started the car I can turn the cruise control on using the button on the end of the stalk (the 'cruise on' notification will appear), however when i drive away it will turn...

    Blusteele clutch kit?

Hi guys, I own a SV6 and the clutch has started to slip :( I got quoted upward of $2000 to have it replaced until my friend who is a mechanic offered to fit one for me I just obviously had to supply a clutch. I've decided to go for a heavy duty clutch with a single mass flywheel instead of the...

OPG Cold Air Intake for VE SV6, any good?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy an aftermarket cold air intake for my 2007 Alloytech VE SV6. I'm looking at the Original Parts Group one from Ebay primarily because its a lot cheaper than an OTR and a tune. Does anyone know if they're any good? I'm not expecting too much by way of performance but...

    My 2007 VE SV6

Im sure the splitter i posted was home made and while they look the same style the g8 one is definately a bit different, but the same style nontheless and i really like the g8 one!

    My 2007 VE SV6

This is the style front splitter I like, looks aggressive but it cant be bought! meaning I'd have to custom make one, which isn't such a bad thing I guess! I think I sourced this picture from a thread somewhere on here but I can't seem to find it. If anyone knows please link it to me!

    My 2007 VE SV6

That's as far as I've gotten so far but there will be a lot more changes very soon! These will include: -Rear lip spoiler -SSV tail lights -King springs (looking to lower the car about 50mm) -Cold air intake -Oil catch can -A front splitter -RevHigh throttle controller -New brake rotors...

    My 2007 VE SV6

A few smaller changes: - The front Holden badge has been painted black (as you can see in the picture above) - The rear of the car has been debadged (also refer to above picture) I feel this gives the cars backside a much cleaner look! - I have installed a gloss black shark fin antenna to...

    My 2007 VE SV6

Having painted the wheels black I decided I much liked the subtle off-sets of black around the car, once again I feel it makes the car look unique and also makes it stand out, which is what modifying a car is about. That being said, my most recent modification, or addition if you like is...

    My 2007 VE SV6

Next I felt as though I needed to enrich the cars appearance. I then painted the brake callipers yellow with high heat resistant paint (this took the better part of a whole day with all the careful masking that had to be done). To make the brakes stand out I painted the wheels gloss black and I...

    My 2007 VE SV6

The next thing was more so a repair not a modification. When I had bought the car the headlights were extremely oxidised at which point I decided to bring them back to life using some high-grit sandpaper, some clear coat and some polish. They look brand new again!

    My 2007 VE SV6

The next step was to of course upgrade the exhaust. I opted against a full catback system and instead went for the 2.5'' Redback mufflers with quad 3" chrome tips. The car now looks a lot better and of course sounds a lot more aggressive, with surprisingly little to no noticeable drone! Take a...

    My 2007 VE SV6

The car had already come equipped with a Kenwood touch screen head unit, including Bluetooth among all the other bell and whistles - except for navigation which is fine by me seeing as I tend to use my phone when I need to know where I'm going. That being said, the first modification was of...

    My 2007 VE SV6

Hey guys! This is my first thread so what better way to start than sharing my pride and joy with you all! Having bought the car completely stock at the beginning of the year as an upgrade to my first car, I have since been modifying and doing some mad DIYing in the company of my best mate and...
