I am trying to establish just how many LS3 powered Calais V sedans were built in 2015, 2016 and 2017. I have seen some previous posts where someone had data on SSV redline build numbers....Maybe some data on Calais V exists too? Just the LS3 powered versions.

I personally know the owner. Article is 100% correct and truthful. He worked hard to improve quality at the plant and had a definite passion for the VFII product....That's why he owns 2 of them. He personally looked after my Calais V LS3 during its build.

It has not been as simple as that to obtain the paddles on the Calais V. Initially my dealer fitted a paddle equipped steering wheel on purchase of the vehicle, then informed me they could not reprogram the car to accept the physical change and make the paddles work.....I had some contacts in GM...

And there lies the problem.....We have to be driving extra hard for the "performance mode" to magically kick in....As soon as you back off a little, the gearbox goes back to very conservative and frustrating slow and non intuitive shifting....I have the Calais V LS3 so lack of steering mounted...

My Calais V LS3 has the standard performance brake option with larger front rotor and single piston floating caliper. This upgrades the master cylinder too so the system is Brembo ready.....Do I need to buy new rotors or can I just buy the front and rear monoblock calipers from the SSV redline...

I agree... it could have been their intention to offer brembos as an option on calais V and SSV and a decsion was made to limit it to Redline in the interests of model differentiation.. this is a possibility. SSV was available with the same wheels as CalaisV in MY16. Was discontinued in MY17...

Stay well away from the big boot lid spoiler. Does nothing for performance, ruins the tight lines of the VF and it is just a little too try hard. The lip spoiler is just fine.
