    Hud

HUD is the best - I flick it over to 'G' mode in the twisties for a laugh... That mode also has the Rev light under the G bar which is also great

Holden no more: 600 jobs go, 10 yr support.

Yes I did watch it, I agree with the analysis was pretty bang on. I've always felt that the Holden brand should have been retired or renamed to Chev/GMC back in 2017 in line with the end of local manufacturing.

    Vf2 SS crap low beam

Yeah they're no good mate, swap them out. In case you need it, this guide helped me out when switching out the bulbs - https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/the-ultimate-bulb-replacement-guide.242681/

How do i tell the difference between a VF Evoke or SV6?

Based on those pics alone mate I reckon you've bought a dodgy one - I hope for your sake I'm wrong but per the comments above, there's way too many red flags for it to be legit. Did you do a REVS check on it?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-29/holdens-enduring-appeal-in-indonesia/12008218 Interesting read - I had no idea our northern neighbours had a Holden club!

    VU High Brake Light

I see you're in NSW, if you happen to be in Sydney there's a spac VU at pick n payless in Blacktown that might have what you're after. Their website is excellent when it comes to stock so I'd recommend checking it out (has pics too) Other than that, Gumtree or eBay..

    Best tint for VF

I've had Solargard brand tint on various cars now, the oldest being done back in 2011 which still looks good - no bubbles or fade/change in colour. It also comes down to the quality of the installation too imo, not just the product. I found the tinters here in Melbourne were pretty strict when...

    No surprise

Yeah I remember watching that. GM: "okay Saab, here is a Vauxhall Insignia for you to sell..." Saab: "Yeah. It's not good enough" :D Pretty much the same response the buying public had on the new Insignia aka ZB aka NG

What do you guys predict will happen to the value of the VF V8s?? Something, nothing?

Is it worth upgrading from an SV6 to a SS?

manual SS here - I'm doing between 13-14L city. My 'best score' on the dash is 7.8 on a trip up north (nfi how Lol seeing that surprised me) In saying that, I didn't buy the SS with fuel economy in mind. On the one test drive I did, as soon as the car started up: that rumble was it for me. Even...

    VU Base - Spare Tyre

I bought a VU series I base ute and have just noticed the spare tyre is missing. Was the spare that came with them originally a space saver, or just another 15" interceptor?? Thanks

2016 sv6 fuel filling not shutting off when full

Yeh same. Would not stop clicking when I first bought the car. I find that having the nozzle 2/3 in works fine & now my pull out game is strong.

when will last VF sell? place your bets

I came across this article and it reminded me of this thread. In it the VFII SS's are recommended as good used buys for this year https://www.drive.com.au/review/the-top-10-used-car-buys-for-2019-120503.html Excerpt: Holden VF Commodore SS Series II Despite the fact that Holden stopped making...

    Preserving leather seat cushion

I'm also a fan of Oakwood, very good stuff. If you have to clean up a spill on the perforated seats we have, watch this technique it works a charm:

    Tint percentage?

I recommend: http://huntershillwindowtinting.com.au/ Ask for Rob. He's done a few cars for me now over the years and have always been happy with the work. Reasonably priced too.

    Is the redline worth it?

+1 I have a series II SSV manual - The standard equipment that came with it were: -Nav (never use it!) -HUD (I love it, especially up in the twisties using the G Force and Progressive Shift Change Indicators is pure awesomeness) -Full Leather interior -Rims: they're the same as what's on the...

    Child restraint anchor points

Same boat mate, our other car is an R36 and only has mounts for the sides. I reckon it might have to do with the width of the vehicle? A tip I received from a mate, in the R36, I still place the baby seat in the middle but use the inner ISO mounts for the side seats (hope that makes sense) It...

    Child restraint anchor points

This is a pretty good video explaining Isofix and installation into an SS sedan: for the OP, you can skip to 2:55 and see the x3 anchor points. The mrs and I recently bought the Britax Millenia seat, it was really easy to install. VF is one of the very few cars with centre seat ISO mounts.

    GPS Tracker

Yeh you can hide it virtually anywhere. It was designed with animals in mind, so can be thrown around etc.. Even waterproof. So in regards to reception, it works okay. In the garage at home there is interference etc. but the app shows it within 20 meters which is fine. When it's outdoors it is...

    Dash Cam for VF

I only got the 1ch so no rear cam for me. I'm getting a second car soon, which will be my daily, so either might get the 2ch for it or just get the Blackvue second car kit if times are tough. Power Magic https://www.catch.com.au/product/blackvue-power-magic-pro-1827484 Caveat: If you're...

    GPS Tracker

I've been using this for a few weeks now: https://www.podtrackers.com Bought x2 on Gumtree. One for my dog, the other for the car LOL. App is decent. Only downside is the battery life, I'm getting 4 days out of it. Good thing at least each pack comes with x2 batteries so just keep one on charge...

    Dash Cam for VF

I got a Blackvue 750 on the weekend, so far so good. Has wifi and cloud so can access the files live or away from the car when the cam is in parking mode. Night time vision is excellent too. The kit comes with a trim tool so you can tuck the cables in, no need to remove any trim/panels etc..

VF II SS V - lost its growl!

I agree with some of the replies that you just get used to the sound and power. It's the same deal on motorbikes, I remember jumping on after getting my Ls thinking "fk me this is quick" then looking down and only doing 60ks lol. If you have a chance mate, chuck up a quick video on youtube &...

    How to tell 2016 SSV

On the back right of the sedan it has the 'V Series II' emblem (Redline has a red background and the SS simply has 'Series II') Pretty sure this is the same for wagon and ute.

    Tint percentage?

I'm on 16% Solar Gard HP Supreme I personally have zero issues with it. This is now my 5th car using the same tint brand, %, and installer (if you're in Sydney and after an experienced, meticulous installer PM me and I can shoot you though the details. He's reasonably priced too)

VFII LS3 engine oil from factory?

Seems retailers here in Melbourne have stopped stocking Mobil1. On the weekend I visited Supercheap, Auto1 and Bursons... Nothing. Pretty sure I got my last 10L from Supercheap. I'll try Autobarn and Repco this arvo. I was thinking of trying out Penrite this time around, thing is I still have a...

Christ, tonight is just gut-wrenching. They've already built the last ones.

The Lion sleeps tonight. For tomorrow and beyond I will drive mine with pride, never forgetting the fact that this country produced some of the best machines. To the men and women who built them: I thank you. I keep a marker in my glove box, so should we ever cross paths I would love your...

Learnt something new today - Handbrake

Mine is quite smooth, I'm in a manual so the feeling might be different to an auto. It is fine to do, as long as you don't launch it there's no harm. I still prefer a manual handbrake.
