    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Thanks for the tip on the new VF eibach but a little pissed that I was sold what they said were VF springs and yes, was thinking of coilovers only because of the way the front sit. Mine at at 380 front and 360 rear. Otherwise everything else is brilliant including ride and handling so I will...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Anybody want to buy my bilstein B8 plus eibach springs? Only installed in April and done just 5000km. I am going for coil overs. Don’t get me wrong though, the B8 and eibach are unreal in ride and handling. Make an offer.

Ideally yes, but that’s what one gets with eibach. I still like it and wouldn’t want the front any lower. Best to go with coilovers if one wants total control over ride heights but for a daily drive, I didn’t want all those moving parts on a coilover and the resultant risk of getting noises and...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Don’t even think about just doing springs. Trust me, it’s crap and it will be a waste of money. I have been there done that! These bilsteins feel great. I am very happy. Ride is firmer than stock but in a nice way. Here’s another angle. I am very happy with how it sits, rides and handles.

This is how mine sits. Comments welcome!

Is it easy to move the circlip or do I need to take it back to them?

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

I got the Bilstein/Eibach installed today. First impression is the ride is great and car feels great and much better than stock. However the back end fender gap is less than the front and I think this creates an illusion that the car is tail heavy but I like the way it sits. Heasman struck me as...

So does he think bilsteins and eibach are a good match for Aussie roads?

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

IMO, I wouldn’t go to east coast. I am paying about $2000 but I provide the eibach springs. Bilsteins are not cheap so they better be worth it! The shop I am going to are good blokes. Don’t listen to what suspension places tell you when they say eibach match the FE3. They don’t and yes, the ride...

Bilstein have new shocks out for the VF now. No welding at all is required. That’s why I changed my mind. Plus, not sure I want to stuff around with all those adjustments on coilovers etc.

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Actually, I have changed my mind. Going with bilstein shocks and eibach springs (I already own the springs). That will do me and a bit cheaper too. Will post photos when it’s done.

Do we know if these H&R Coilovers are noisy or make squeaks during driving or any brand of coilovers for that matter?

Yes, I have asked Heasman if they want to buy them off me.

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

I have decided to go H&R Street performance + coilovers. I don’t want to risk installing bilsteins and eibach and then having that ‘tail heavy’ look. H&R are one of the best out there so the final results should be just fine.

That is my worry too. With pedders, warranty is covered at any of the Oz wide outlets. Horses for courses I suppose. Anybody want to swap a white wing spoiler for a black lip spoiler?

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

I do agree. You would have to think bilstein is better than pedders shocks. Pedders told me eibach springs are an excellent match for their sports Ryder shocks but I suppose what else would they say! I’d rather match bilstein with eibach and by the way, the pedders shocks are not that much...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

This is what mine looked like with Eibach pro kit and stock FE3 struts. Ride was crap and so it’s back to original stock FE3 now. When Holden dealer put back the original springs, they found damaged struts. Those stock struts are not matched to the eibach springs according to holden and I think...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

It looks good but the back is lower than the front, at least that’s how it appears and so with say 3 people in the back seat would make it worse. Also, that raked look is lost. But, it still looks good. Thanks for sharing.

Can we see a photo please. This is the configuration I am thinking of getting. Also, Heasman steering told me no welding required for the latest VF Bilstein struts?? https://bilsteinworld.com.au/products/bilstein-strut-units-to-suit-vf-commodore/

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

No way. Stock FE3 is way smoother than putting lowering springs in with stock FE3 struts. Trust me, don’t do it. It’s crap, at least on a SSV Redline fitted with FE3. If you want to lower, then put in matching sport shocks as well. I am about to do that to my car. Haven’t made a final decision...

What bilsteins did you put in? B8 was it? That is what I am thinking about using with my eibach springs. What’s the ride like compared to stock? Would really appreciate a side on pic if you can share. Cheers

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Looks nice for sure but I did same thing to my VFII SSV Redline using the stock FE3 shocks with eibach springs. It did not ride nice at all. Even though pedders etc will tell you that the eibach match the stock FE3 shocks, they really don’t. I ended up taking my car back to holden to put the...
