    VF roof lining

My roof lining is still fine in my car. The lining on the parcel shelf is starting to lift in 2 places along the crease line. You can see one spot in the photo on the left side of the centre anchor point. I suppose the parcel shelf would be much easier to remove and fix than the roof lining...

Sv6 black edition 2016 clunk noise

Has the transmission been serviced yet? The maintenance scheduled recommends it be serviced either at 150,000km or 90 months whichever interval occurs first.

Sv6 black edition 2016 clunk noise

Could be tailshaft. How many km has the car done? I would suggest you take the car to a transmission specialist.

    Loosing water

Had the same problems with my old VX. It kept loosing water but had no idea where from. I did a pressure test of the coolant system when the engine was dead cold one day and when I was just about to give up noticed water dripping onto the concrete. Traced the source to the LIM. Fortunately the...

Transitioning from a Commodore to an EV

The ZS EV is adapted from an ICE platform so not as slippery as the Teslas or EV6s. Also worth remembering Canberra winters are much colder that Adelaide so the car would consume more power especially when the heating uses a resistive element. Do Tesla's use a heat pump for heating and cooling...

Transitioning from a Commodore to an EV

My experience with an EV so far. The boss bought an MG ZS EV in late Jun this year on a 3-year novated lease. Have done approximately 6900km so far and we use it as the go to car around town. Have had one trip Sydney approx 300km and return so far with no problems. She works from home two days a...

    Engine Misfire P0300

Been a while but thought I better provide an update in this issue. 1. I checked the plugs myself and the correct ones have been installed. 2. I replaced the purge valve solenoid myself and noticed it was making the same noise. Haven't had a chance to connect my mechanic's scanner (he's back...

    Vibrating steering wheel

Nothing would surprise me with Holden as they were getting closer to shutdown. A good example is the HVAC evaporator grommet with my Nov 16 build SV6. My understanding is that it should have had the rubber grommet when in fact it was fitted with the foam grommet as the latter was failing. I...

    Purge Valve solinoid

I replaced my a few weeks ago. Took about 15-20min to do the job. Local parts retailer wanted $180 for the solenoid. Ordered one (OEM) from the US on Amazon for $60 (including delivery) and was delivered in a couple of weeks.

    Issues when locking vehicle

How old is the car battery? Is it still serviceable. There are plenty threads on this forum where a battery on the way out causes electrical problems that normally don't make sense. In my case, my instrument cluster would not hold the nightime illumination level I had set it to. It always...

    Gen-F2 GTS "T"-Boned

It was a hire car driven by a P plater. She was part of a road crew working around the corner. I was on the way to the hospital to get a baby capsule fitted for out third arrival. I was so pissed of I called the police and they were on the scene in about 10min. They fined her for failing to stop...

    Gen-F2 GTS "T"-Boned

Any damage to the B and C pillars? I assume the airbags did not go off. Hopefully it gets fixed. In 2012, the Mazda 3 got T-boned on the passenger side. Airbags did not go off. Other car stopped a the stop sign and then proceeded to cross the intersection. Only problem was that I got in the...

    Engine Misfire P0300

I have pressed down on the valve. No change. I even tried to make a seal around the base. It sound like it's coming internally. But I am not sure if its normal or not. I can't access another VF with an LFX to confirm one way or the other. So relying on someone on this forum to confirm for me...

    Busted seat pockets

When I had my VXII Berlina, I had to replaced the driver's side rear pocket. Yes the car had side airbags. I followed the instructions in this thread but disconnected the battery to ensure the air bag system was de-energised. Just in case.

    Chirping rattle at 100kph

Taking the dash apart is no guarantee you will work out where the noise is coming from. The boss' 2005 Mazda 3 developed a rattle somewhere in dash on the passenger side when driving on rough surfaces years ago. She wasn't worried about it but my OCD finally kicked in last year and I pulled...

    Engine Misfire P0300

Worked out the air sucking noise. It's coming from the PCV that connects to the manifold. It only does it when you give the accelerator a squirt from idle. You can hear it in this video at the 4 sec mark - I have not noticed/heard this sound before. Is this normal for a VF LFX (and am chasing...

    Engine Misfire P0300

My mechanic ordered the plugs through his parts supplier so shouldn't be counterfeit items. I have ordered the correct ones to fit. This morning I was going to remove and check the plugs but have got the right socket for the job. Anyway, I started the car to see how its running and noticed that...

    Advice on car please!

Agree with all the points above. The other advice I would provide is as things break on the car get them fixed as soon as you can so they don't pile up and you get a price shock to get it fixed all at once.

    Engine Misfire P0300

Car battery is 3 month old. 120k km on the clock. It was running fine before the plugs were changed. I am going to check them on the weekend to see which ones have been installed. I think the NGK LTR7IX-11 plugs have been installed of the ILTRE611. Looking at the NGK specs the former are for LPG...

Possible repairable write off - Holden Commodore SSV Redline VF2 Manual - Black

When I bought my SV6 in 2020, I insured it at an agreed value of $22,500. When I renewed the insurance this year, they insurer increased the agreed value to $28,800. It doesn't have any mods either.

    Engine Misfire P0300

Hi guys, I posted this on an existing thread so not sure it's got much exposure so trying again for some feedback. The car on two occasions has thrown up a P0300-00 error code. Each time I have cleared and everything seem fine. First time was driving the car, engine light came on and the...

If that is the connector for both seats then they should plug into the connectors on the floor. Here are photos of the connectors on my car (not detailed) when I did some work on my car last year. The first is the passenger side with the seat connected. The second one is the passenger side floor...

Post the pictures of the connectors on the seat so we may be able to help you better. When you refer to the connectors are they the ones underneath the seat plug into the connector on the floor? Or are you referring to the another connector?

    VF SV6 advice

Reviving an old thread. This morning driving to work with the wife she called me "a driving Miss Daisy driver'. Repair costs

Have you got insurance? Best to go through them because you don't know what structural damage has occured behind the bumper/bonnet. My wife love tapped a ute in the school car park with her Mazda 3 driving less than 10km/h. Damage was a bent bonnet, cracked headlight, damaged bumper and upon...

Auto Dimming of My Link Screen

I did the mod (remove some of the goop in the sensor) a couple of years ago and the auto lights work to my satisfaction. During summer when driving to work (southerly direction) in the morning the lights would turn on and off repeatedly when the sunlight on the sensor was blocked by the A...

    Battery Issues ?

Yep, that's what I bought last weekend. And make sure the vent port on the other side is plugged. When I changed my battery the other side wasn't plugged so I have had three years of the battery venting some of the gases in the boot.
