VS 5.0's VE 6.0 Chlorophyll SSV Z Series

That's pretty kool....the botanica mica isn't as reactive as yours but that could be due to minimal curvy panels.

VS Series II 5 Litre Berlina Wagon

My brother happened to go thru' the Elizabeth plant and remembered seeing that colour on the production line and saying how similar it looked to my botanica mica.... yours is more pearlish from the ones I have seen since.....nice.

Yes.....can look purpleish/greenish/blueish depending on out door lighting.

VS Series II 5 Litre Berlina Wagon

When bought in Vic back in 2002 the owner fitted HM headers, ROH ZS 16 x 8 rims and had it chipped....that's about it. Original owner had an automatic gearbox shop in Dandenong so suspect he tinkered with the trans. It is a factory built 5 litre with LSD and passenger airbag and still had the...

The window was fogged up and the demister did nothing.....this is a wagon not that it would make any difference.

    VS Rear Demister Switch

Had to use the rear demister yesterday and nothing happened as in the indicator light did not come on and as I rarely use it in the 20 years that I have owned the car I can't recall if the switch "clicks" in when pushed ??? The fuse is fine, the switch is back lit when the lights are on but that...

    Hot under dash

I've owned my VS 5 Litre wagon now for almost 20 years and it does the same.....pretty sure it is always hot and the climate control mixes the air to the temp you selected. Is a concern though because if it ever sprung a leak I'd hate to think of the 3rd degree burns you'd receive !

    Motor trimmer....Adelaide

Have owned my VS Berlina wagon for almost 20 years now and the interior is virtually immaculate except for the front seats. Fortunately they have been cocooned in tailored made sheepskins in all that time and the fabric is perfect except as I took the skins off prepping it for a recent show I...

    Wheelly nuts

Your spot on...found a "standard" nut for a steel rim and the length of the taper is to short i.e. the corners of the hex interfere with the stud hole as the nut is tightened up. I ended up finding a 21mm nut that has a longer taper so that it sits snugly in the stud hole with no interference...

    Wheelly nuts

Cheers to the replies....the stud holes have steel inserts so guess ordinary nuts should work.

    Wheelly nuts

Just purchased an immaculate set of VS Berlina alloys (for show purposes) as ours have ROH ZS 16 x 8 rims. Will the standard 12 x 1.5 nuts for steel rims be ok ?

    Dragging brakes

It does hence when it hits 35 or so plus the heat from the headers it gets pretty warm. Pedal feels slightly harder when it happens but that could also be because the rotors are so hot that some brake fade is happening......will need to take it to a brake mob (here in Adelaide ???) asap as...

    Dragging brakes

Thanks all......to cover off the problem has been around for a couple of years but is gradually getting worse. The hoses and calipers are original but from your feedback I think the master cylinder is at fault and is a the cheaper option to repair....I'll try the removal of the vacuum hose and...

    Dragging brakes

Our wagon has developed a brake issue that is progressively getting worse where all 4 brakes will begin to drag when the outside temp is around 35 deg c and higher. It gets that bad that the rims are almost impossible to touch and when in neutral it is impossible to push the car. Once the car...

    5 Litre Radiator (Auto)

Very late update.....GM still make the original IDENTICAL brass/copper rad.....2036 here we burble ;-)

Thanks....in the mean time I'll get a quote for a recore.

    5 Litre Radiator (Auto)

Old rad is 460....new is 470mm....surprisingly 10 mm does make all the diff. Bonnet will close but give it 12 months and the CAI will be looking pretty sad.

    5 Litre Radiator (Auto)

Thanks EYY, will keep it in mind. Current issue is the extra 10mm in height....surprising GM had tight tolerances but I guess V8's were not as common as the old V6'S in their time.

    5 Litre Radiator (Auto)

The original 19 year old brass/copper radiator has been repaired a few times now and I have been advised to get another one. Did that and bought an ADR branded brass radiator. Visually it's quite similar and is meant to fit from VL to VS, BUT when I installed it, it sits 10mm higher than the...

    Air Conditioning Advice

I have the same issue. One question though when it does swap from floor to face etc should it indicate this on the display. Mine juts indictaes face vents as it swaps ???

Climate Control A/C - so it does what ???

OK, after all these years and to have the same old, same old as everyone else seems to have with "Climate" A/C ie just blows on the floor even if face vents are selected, though I replaced the fancy 6 or so port solenoid unit a couple of years ago with a new one. So two questions 1./ Who has a...

    Central locking - driver door

Has been around but not regularly heard, You also deserve the credit VS 5 Litre BT1 as I was typically looking into the worst case scenario..... must step back and re-think the situation ! Thanks all.

NORTI, you got it in one ! The clip was just out by a poofteenth......pushed it back and all is good.

    Central locking - driver door

Thanks VS 5.0 (been a while since I've logged in). Clip is good.....something must be amiss with a linkage ??? I was hoping that it was a common fault with these 19 year old Commodores.....a job for the weekend. These VS Series 2 Commodores are getting harder and harder to look shmick !

    Central locking - driver door

Just happened..... the drivers door will not lock when locking the car. All of the other doors lock, but the horn will make a brief "beep" indicating something is a miss. If you try and push the button down it's just jammed, but when you unlock the car with the first press of the remote you can...

Our VS V8 Series II Berlina Wagon

    ABS warning light coming on

In recent weeks the ABS light has started lighting up after a few k's of driving. Would it be a sensor and if so can they be serviced e.g. cleaned and/or looms reseated and if not are they still available ?
