Help with shudder on VF Calais V S2 2015 V6

I guess I get frustrated when questions are posted, then the OP disappears. Knowing the outcomes and fixes would help other forum users in shortening the fault finding process, myself included, as I may be chasing a similar fault. Working out if it is the transmission or ignition/injectors is...

    Torque Converter Issues

What are your symptoms? I assume that you have a V8, so have the 6L80E. Most of what I have heard about in regard to VF torque converters is related to the auto on V6s.

SSV Redline Manual post attempted theft issue

The cheap **** OBD2 device I bought from Amazon and used once did exactly that. Flashed up "service power steering" etc etc. Tried to start car - nothing except comms messages on the dash. Removed device, car worked. Luckily my other scan tool (somewhat better device) cleared the multitude of...

SSV Redline Manual post attempted theft issue

A company I worked for installed a hidden switch for the power wire to the fuel pump, in all the company cars. It was wired to/from the cable run under the sill cover. (EL Falcons/Fairmonts). Made it hard for an opportunistic thief. It meant you had to push the hidden switch with one hand whilst...

Here we go in Sydney again! Rain and more rain. Fark - waiting for the Wakehurst Parkway to close. Surprisingly it's still open. Will be a long trip home.

Vf lfx has a shudder or miss at low acceleration

Well, the car's been to Canberra now and there is the same shuddering when accelerating slighly and occasional miss (?) when acclerating hard, although the engine is happy to rev out. Seems to be getting worse. No DTCs, although my scanner is an Amazon low price special. I'm ready to check the...

VF wagon, would you buy one?

I'm guessing corrosion of metal and salt on the paint etc parked near the beach (unless they are washed down often) and little rust in the desert? Although, wouldn't the plastics and rubbers dry out in the Western NSW location? Unless you are religiously coating them with goo.

Some issues on my 2013 SV6 VF Commodore

Oops forgot about the surface rust (hopefully that is all you have). Best passivate with rust coverter after cleaning off what rust you can see first e.g. Ranex at Bunnings, but there are plenty of other products on the market. Done the same with mine, since I live near the coast. Then paint...

Some issues on my 2013 SV6 VF Commodore

Dont know how much to do the work in Auckland - I can advise on Sydney though, since I have replaced most of the front suspension bit by bit, as I found wear that didn't fit with my OCD. The ball joints in mine were wriggly. I noticed that good quality bushes/balljoints cost much the same as the...

Yeah - not quite the same as an STI Redline is it? (ask Mr Subaru)

Vf lfx has a shudder or miss at low acceleration

I have a similar issue on my 2014 SV6, which has just gone over 100k km. Given there are no other responses, I'll add my 0.2 cents worth (inflation adjusted). Doubt that I'm actually helping here, but more in commiseration. It only does it when the car gets warmer, i.e. been driven around Sydney...

VF & VE second hand rare & demanding high Prices.

Smaller and tighter tracks in NZ without long straights, so the cars couldn't "stretch" out (like at Mt Panorama with relatively huuge Conrod straight). Probably resulting in a shorter diff ratio, since the speeds didn't need to be as high and the cars were lighter. But I was too young so...

VF & VE second hand rare & demanding high Prices.

This is the new world order of pricing of any asset, service or consumable. And supply is so limited. I don't know where the world is heading - at least I've had my free vaxs.

Diff oil - needs change or not ?

Thread dig but... I thought the Nulon squeeze pack would be a better idea. No pump and it would be just like rolling up toothpaste - all of the contents would be emptied into the diff. Amirite? Bought 3 packs to do 2 diffs and allowed extra for an OCD flush and my usual oil spillage across...

VF & VE second hand rare & demanding high Prices.

This made me have a look myself. The prices are still look very high to me by historical standards, for (minimum) 6.5 to up to 10 year old VFs. Some have bigger kms. I reckon they've got a long way $down to go.

VF calais seat cover / base fix

The clips Holden used for the recall were much more brutal than these. They clip the seat cover down HARD to the frame and I was surprised the pleather on my SSV didn't get cut by them. Guess they knew what they were doing.

    Rough idle -Spark Plugs?

I couldn't see the actual plug hole (what is the technical term?) in #2 due to the exhaust manifold position. I had to start the thread once I'd memorised where it was, by sticking my finger in the hole. The rest of them were easy as. Many years ago, when I was a teenager, I cross threaded a...

    Rough idle -Spark Plugs?

Just changed the spark plugs on my L77. I don't remember the job being so difficult on my LS1 engines. Or is it just me getting older? Pleased to find there was grease on the plugs, would be exfactory. No difference before/afterthe plugs were change, but were getting very old. Trying to get...

    Rough idle -Spark Plugs?

I'll join in. Just changed the sparkplugs on my SV6, 100k km. The old plugs were only very slightly discoloured, much less than cars in the past e.g. the LS1s I have owned. Probably a good sign being so clean. Also noted zero oil anywhere around the coil packs. Doing the L77 next week at 70k km...

VF2 Calais alert Remote Left in Car

Oh and make sure you are using good quality batteries. I used ebay ones (maxxel, panosonic etc) for a while and they didn't last long as well as giving an intermittent warning of no key detected. New Energiser batteries from JB Hifi and the problems have gone away.

The state of NZ is even more relaxed. Just (allegedly) pick the right testing station/workshop and these mods will be OK.

    VF SS with 4.11s?

Maybe that's why this combination was fitted at the Holden plant? Mind you why not stuff a nice car up by playing with a tyre igniting diff ratio and turning the gearbox into a 4 or 5 speed by having 22% more revs at the diff? /s A 3.7 diff, like the manual models, seems slightly smarter to me.

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

Cars in stealth mode. Dark colours with lights off, probably by manually turning off the auto "lights" on function. Particularly the tunnels around Sydney airport, when my eyes are adjusting to the dim light. Is it a social media trend?
