Its strange, I thought the SIDI was supose to be better on fuel consumption, but my daughter gets around the 10s in her 07 model and her boyfriend tells me he gets around the 11s in his 011 sidi.

Mate the return line your talking about, has it got a black rubber line connected to it inside the tank, as thats the thing stopping me getting the old one out, if so how do they disconnect them without braking ??

Im having same troubles, the fuel pump works sometimes, then nothing, mate Im pretty sure its my fuel pump but just trying to get it out of the tank is a pain, I spent an hour today trying every direction I could to get it out but theres a black hose connected and cant get the thing to budge.

Did you do the pump your self, if so how did you go getting it out with that black hose, im having trouble.

Just wandewring if this has been discussed, if so could someone piont me to the thread, or if not, how is it removed. I went to pull mine out and got it about quarter of the way out and looks like the big black hose that connected to it wouldnt budge from inside the tank, so instead of me...

All fixed, internal was a faulty connector, the external pump had the negative and positive oposite sides, so when fitted to the car it was running in reverse, so I had to change the connectors so they would fit to the new pump, stuffed if I know why that was the case.

Sorry forgot to mention, I can hear the pump working, just isnt any fuel pumping through it

Thought I better start my own thread. Anyway Ive replaced both pumps, external and internal, but I cant get the intank to pump the fuel to the outside pump, the kit had two filters, a larger one for the V8 and a smaller one for the 6, mines an 8 so I used the larger one, but the one I took...

Mate done what you said an all good getting it out, but now I put the new one in and its still not pumping fuel, I pulled it back out and put it in a bucket of fuel and its working but no fuel is being pumped through, so I ask is the pump faulty or am I doing something wrong ?

They are at the back, I found that if I jacked up just the car, not under the diff, you can get enough clearance to pull the pump out.

Thanks mate, yer sorry didnt even look when the thread was started, just searched fuel pumps, will give it ago, there no bolts on the actual plate though, does it twist out, looks like I need a hammer and screwdriver ?
