I strongly suggest that you keep the alarm and all necessary wiring inside the cabin. A lot of people mount them behind the kick panels.

If it is the key barrel you are trying to remove, there is a thin slot that you poke a flat bladed screwdriver through and remove the barrel. Sometimes the slot is covered in a thin layer of metal that you can break away. It should tell you that in a service manual.

Its all fixed. It turned out to be the vacum break thingy wasn't adjusted properly and it wasn't opening the choke far enough causing it to run too rich. Thanks anyway though
