Your post to this thread reminds me that I have an alternator with noisy ass bearings sitting on a shelf... I should pull it apart and try to recover it as a spare. Does anyone have the part number of the bearings used in this so I can order them in advance before making a mess everywhere?

I'm pretty sure this cuts out the starter if you try to start the engine while holding the accelerator. It certainly doesn't start if I press the accelerator before I try to crank over the engine...
