Fixed. Faulty sender unit. Purchased the incorrect sender unit (S1 VY), Series 2 type has since been fitted and is operational. Thanks for the help.

and how the hell would the wagon know if the senders been unplugged :/ sender now reads 224ohms, so the float is not stuck and is reading correctly, just not talking to the dash or computer.

ok, cheers for that. ute senders are mounted horizontally if im not mistaken? would that explain why I have just filled it and its now reading empty? computer readouts are opposite to what they should be. thanks NU13

hey mate. yes 'in car' I had a friend help me hold it up and spray the adhesive. masked up the windows and door trims. due to the sunroof there was no physical card to glue it to, it had been cut away and removed except around the edges.

Does your old coil work? Try swapping that over and see if it will run? Also check/swap the short lead that goes from the coil to the distributor cap. Ignition modules are notorious for packing up as well.

This is awesome to see a SII calais overhauled with such detail. It will look beyond brand new. The paint has come up brilliant, Did you spend alot of time preparing the underneath/ floor for paint? Would have been filthy.

Try replacing the ignition coil or swap it with a working one if its being a hassle.

hey yeah few small updates, got a genuine GM vs s bootlip. Currently getting the headlining retrimmed. If it wasnt for the sunroof it would be easy. Few new photos taken on a mates camera.

Has the felt worn on the rubber seal? Sometimes it wears and causes the glass to grip then won't go up easily. Spray a bit of tyre shine on the remaining felt, it's worked for me.

cant believe you let the vs calais go man. the projector lights in these are pretty good, you should swap the globes for H9, cheap and effective upgrade.

A few updates. Finally found a bumper (mine had been cracked nicely) and getting it resprayed. New headlights - Genuine GM LSD. Just cleaned up and repainted. Probably a waste of time but anyway.

Check your boot or interior lights arnt staying on. Something may be running that you arnt aware of every time you lock the car.
