Cleaning Throttle Body on VE SS

Nah I wouldn't bother with injector cleaner, just stick to bp 98 fuel and it will be fine. I would clean the MAF as Muke said and put a can of three bond manifold cleaner through it though.

Cleaning Throttle Body on VE SS

Unbolt the throttle body and use some cabny cleaner (avoiding the plug for the harness) and wipe it down with a rag if needed. U can also get a can of manifold cleaner through Repco (it's made by three bond in a green and silver can) that you spray into the pcv system that cleans the manifold...

kpm or xforce varex exhaust on blown and comes ve?

I would say neither and go get a 3" hurricane system! But if I was forced to choose between the two it would be kpm system over the xforce system!

Cam Spec Selection For HSV E3 GTS

What are you actually trying to achieve with it? Big hp for bragging rights, fast 1/4, tough sounding v8? U need to work out what the goal is before picking a random cam! If its for fast 1/4 times I know a guy that had a custom grind done by cam tech it's only 216 duration but high lift (like...

Can we use United 100 premium fuel on our E1 E2 E3 HSV?

The pump and injectors in the e85 compatible models flow over 30% more then the standard ones (series 1 ve) because roughly 30% more e85 is needed compared to say 98 in the combustion process! Hence why they are a cheap and reliable fuel system upgrade for a series 1 ve!

    coolant change method question

True distilled water will allow much longer service intervals but tap water is still sufficient for maybe 30000-50000 km. but as I said distilled or demineralised water plus water wetter is great stuff, i seem to be able to give the ve much more of a thrashing without the overheating!

need help with making exhaust louder!

Ok maybe I've been drinking to much but you saying you changed from a 2.5" exhaust to a 2 1/2" exhaust?? So essentially u have simply changed brands with the same sized exhaust yet wondering why it sounds different! Did u consider maybe different brand = different design = different sound??
  14. krylothe

    coolant change method question

Using tap water is fine, rain water is about as good as distilled but steer clear of bore water. Also it's the inhibitor in the coolant that stops the corrosion not the coolant itself you will probably find a 50/50 mix of coolant will be overkill, at most maybe 20% concentrate and add an...

Idk maybe needs a radiator flush, without being able to have a look all I can do is speculate and guess. Mate if ur not sure have a mechanic check it over.

    Orange sludge found

Doing a flush is easy, and i have removed the radiator from my ve before and that was simple enough. But iv not replaced a head gasket before so not sure how difficult that might be.
  27. krylothe

    Orange sludge found

If I were u mate check your engine oil and transmission oil (assuming you have a auto) for discoloration or milky look to it, cause that shouldn't be happening!! If tranny oil is milky the coolant line in the radiator is cracked and u need a new radiator (and flush the tranny) If the engine it...

    Yet another red VE SS..

Mate I still reacon u should cut out that merge pipe and replace it with one from sureflo. Costs about $90 and should be easy enough to have fitted, that at least would be part of the problem sorted without forking out for a new exhaust!

L 98 otr and tune ?! is it worth it ?

The xforce systems sound good, at least until you change diff gears and get that unbearable drone when cruising on the highway! I have been told hurricane systems although maybe quieter don't have the problem with drone as xforce does.
  38. krylothe

    VE Diff

Not sure what it costs for that where u are but here there was very little difference in price between changing gears in my old diff (including new bearings etc) and buying a whole new diff with shot peened gears.
  39. krylothe

    VE Diff

Mate for the cost of parts and labour it's prob better either sourcing a good used diff or get a brand new diff and sell your old one.
