[VT-VX] How to install a chrome shifter button in your VT/VX

Just a tip to help re installing the shifter, and that annoying pin which has to go back in. I found that a piece of wire (coathanger did the job) which is big enough to fit inside the pin can be slid in the hole on the shifter. This keeps the shifter in place. Then place the pin over the...

    Berlina head unit install

Hey all. I am installing a new head unit in my Berlina, and it has a single wire out from the head unit for antenna control. I was wondering if anyone knows which colour wire this connects to, as my Max Ellery's electrical wiring diagram sucks, and I can't really make sense of it...

    VT Berlina - Help

Is the aerial bent, or is it in good condition but just won't up or down? The other half's father had a stuffed aerial on his Patrol, and he bought a kit which enabled you to fix it yourself, cost about twenty bucks. Took a whole of five minutes and it goes up and down no problems. I think he...

Caster bushes - what are they?

Yeah it should be on the instruction sheet you get with the bushes, just follow the combination of washers/spacers. Not terribly hard to do, a long breaker bar is handy and a small squirt of CRC to loosen up bolts.

Caster bushes - what are they?

Yes, agreed it is. Didn't like the feeling though. Anyway, just wanted to write this in case anyone else searches for a thread along the lines of this, that it was a very simple job really. Nice long torque wrench came in very handy, and that the thread 'How to replace radius rod bushes...

Caster bushes - what are they?

Thanks all for the replies, much appreciated. I have searched ebay and went to Repco. The only ones they had were Nolathane ones for $195. Same Nolathane on ebay, 145 with free postage, so I think I will just go with these. Thanks again, all of your assistance is much highly appreciated...

Caster bushes - what are they?

Thanks Zeussy, the radius rod/caster/Z bar bushes look pretty shagged, probably still stock from the factory 12 years ago. Just read the qrite up on replacing them, doesn't look too hard a job. Thanks heaps!

Caster bushes - what are they?

Hi there, I have just had a roadworthy done on my VT, and one thing needing replacement is the caster bushes. What the hell are caster bushes? I have found a few posts on forums but I'm not totally clued up to where they are, and I was wondering if they go by another name, then I can find...

Damage to VT, LH front and radiator support

Hey all, Got a VT with some damage to the front left hand side. It needs a new left hand guard, though it looks like it will need a new radiator support, both upper and lower. Does anyone know if this is a welding job, or a bolt out/bolt in job? If it is a welding job, does it have to be...

    EBAY scams!

Yes, another scammee from eBay. I got ripped 700 AUD about three years ago from some dodge in the Ukrane. Could never get the cash back, as I paid via Western Union money order which offers you no security (as I later found out). So I learnt, at a loss though. Never buy from anyone in former...

Can't start the car-KEYS WILL TURN FREELY AND LOOSELY.Lights on even without the keys

If you're in Melbourne out west kinda way I can recommend a guy. My barrel wouldn't turn, so it was a case of new barrel. From memory it was like $100 all up. if you do it yourself, be careful because if you break the pin at the back of the barrel, then you're up for a whole new housing, which...

putting two head units into a VS

Hey, Yeah did it myself, there's a thread in the Car audio thread I think. What you do is just chop the coin tray sides lengthways, so the HU has something to sit it and secure to. Might was to also drill some holes in the coin tray if it blocks any ventillation holes
