2002 VT/VX Hazard Switch

Hi,

What's the best way to release the side hooks on a VT/VX hazard switch without damaging the switch?

You will need to remove the dash surround and press the tabs together to release the switch from behind the surround.

I've got the switch out. Just not sure how to press the tabs in without damaging them, is there a technique or tool that can be used? I've done it previously with pick's but it wrecked the tabs.

If you mean that you want to know how to put the new one back in, just push it in and it will click in. If it's a new switch it should have a bit of give in the tabs, older switches can become brittle but that is the only way I know of to install the switch.

Warming the tabs with a hairdryer or something will soften them a bit and reduce the risk of breaking.

The tab's don't have any give is all. If you push them together with anything other than a pick it snaps.

That's a good idea. I've got a heat gun so will give that a go.

I stabbed my hazard swith too hard & it fell in the dash board NEVER to be seen since. Any advice without havint to dissemble the whole dash (VT)

No, you have to remove the dash surround.
It's not that difficult.
