well best of luck jest.

get better soon so I have a reason to get the Commencal out :p

if its anything like my Doc, when I saw him 2 days after a stack that put me in hospital he said "you fell off your bike, youll be fine, now go back to work"
(he is actually a top doc, just funny how he said it)

This thread... I don't know why but it reminds me of this clip everytime:

LOL. You're a strange, strange man. Though the crashing I can relate to. :p

I had my turn yesterday, nothing major but left some skin on the mountain, lol. It was very powdery!

Was a good run down though even with the stack I took 7 minutes off my PB. Was a day for pushing oneself. My mate recorded it on his Contour, angle was low though, he missed the stack, caught me getting up. (a run wide embarrasing moment at 0:40 and proper stack at 6:50)

Ouch!! Hate graves and the like.

Get yourself some soft shell AM pads for elbows and knees. They will probably set you back about 60-90 bucks depending what you get but you would have stood up unscathed from that.

In related news, that looks like a fun little trail.

And in further related news, your mate needs to angle his cam up another few degree's. I always had the same issue thinking I set the angle on the cam right only do discover some very intense footage of the ground 4-5 meters ahead.
:p

Haha. It's funny you say that, I ordered some Troy Lee 2014 knee/shin guards and elbow pads last week. They arrive today or tommorrow.

Yeah, they're some fun blues, 4 segments and some double black air thrown in for good measure. Stromlo is really hard on bikes, it's just rocky outcrop after rocky outcrop. You can get moving though.

We didn't have a chance to test the camera unfortunately (was a rushed run) but I've got a Contour now too so we'll set them up during the week so we can film each other on next Sundays shuttle runs. It's good to watch your technique and it sucks that he missed all my air, I grabbed some decent hangs.

Popped out to Lysty today to see how the elbow is holding up and also test out the new 5550 TLD elbow guards I got.

Great day out riding, though DAMN I am unfit.

Elbow held up very well so next weekend will need to be somewhere more interesting, maybe Red Hill again.

And here's a pic of the bike after I cleaned it.

Bought some cleaning gear from MTB direct, chain cleaner, degreaser, lube, muck off brush so the bike got a REALLY good clean. :)

good to hear the elbow is going good again.

came off yesterday aswell.
chain off, over the bars, into the next jump
best reason to wear protection, even with 3 layers took skin off the elbow.

So, went on a road trip with a couple mates to Barjarg yesterday for the ride day.

Wow, that was an eye opener.

The Flow track was challenging enough for me and the DH track was all B or C line. :)

I did learn a few lessons:

1. Body armour is a fantastic investment. It all paid itself off very quickly.
2. I really need to learn how to turn a bike properly. The off camber corners were killing me for the first few runs
3. I need to trust the bike more. Every time I went slow I would get sore forearms from braking and crash, every time I went faster than I was comfortable the bike took care of the work.

Some of the terrain was insane in terms of rocks but the bike did all the work even when my line was retarded.

No real damage to the bike, but some battle scars here and there. The pedals and cranks taking the brunt of it.

I have some footage which I need to review, but here is the trip in 4 pictures:

I think number three is the biggest obstacle. Both times I've had a decent spill it was because I doubted the bike and reacted poorly. I guess it takes time.

I wish I could see the pics!
