275/30R20 Grippy Tyres

Hi All,

I've searched through the threads, and can't quite find what I am looking for.

This is directed at those that hit the strip now and then. I'm looking for the best budget consious tyres I can find ( $200 to $450 ), that will provide me the best grip for launch. Currently, I have 275/30R20's. I'm interested to know if there are recommended tyres for occasional strip use, but also street legal. Tyre wear isn't a major consideration. If I could get 10-15,000 out of a set, I'd be happy. It's a weekend tourer, so not driven that much.

I looked at the Kumho KU19 series, but there are conflicting reports over whether these are any good or not for strip use.

These are for a VE SS

Hope someone has some recommendations.

Nitto NT05's. Mate uses them on his 400rwkw G6ET and they hook up sweet.

If you're doing strip runs you might want to consider some cheap stockies for the rear (the smallest that will fit over the brakes) and a dedicated pair of track slicks.

Stockies with slicks on the back and some stockies on the front as well, no point going to the track to get good times with big ass 20" rims on the front.
