hi guy's/gal's,

Just wondering if anyone could clarafy the reprograming of the instument clusters as i want to upgrade to the 3 window..
been looking on ebay.

but my local dealer is saying they can't be reprogramed..... i don't know much but that doesn't sound right to me.

is it possible or do i have to buy a new one?

The odometer can only be "programmed" by Tech2 if the reading is less than 100 Km.

It is possible to have the odometer reset from higher kilometres by specialist instrument places. They usually require a statutory declaration re the odometer reading on the cluster that is being replaced, and I have seen varying costs, typically between $100 to $200.

Best option is to find a cluster with around the correct odometer reading, or a new one.

Be very careful that you get the correct cluster for your VIN. I am aware of someone who spent an additional $400 on fuel sender unit replacement because he got the wrong cluster.

They're right. The instrument clusters can only be programmed should the kilometers in the car they're being installed in, exceed those allready stored within the unit. If you get a new console, the dealer will have to, by law, match your kilometers to the new unit. Once that is done however, you will never be able to reset it. It sucks, but heah...

Do you have any pics of your car posted on this site?

Any other mods?

Not yet mate, no. I am still getting some things put on - will post pics when it is complete (about a month). It will look very similar to my avatar picture when done though. I have posted a few picks of the interior, that can be seen in various threads in the VY section.

Correction

I just re-read my earlier post. Could have written it better.

The Tech2 can only program the odometer if it reads less than 100 Km.

All other functions of the Tech2 can be done at any stage.

Heah all - does anyone know if tech2 can change the text on a VY HSV cluster from "Clubsport 0000"? Would be kickin' to have a personal message.

Hi there..
Can anyone tell me.
If i purchase a new 3 window cluster for a VY 1..
Can it be programed straight into an Exec or do you have to change the BCM for it to work properly

Cheers

No Need for New BCM

Hi,

You do not need to change the BCM to change to the 3 window cluster.

You will probably need a Tech2 calibration to get everything right. Otherwise it is plug and play.
