Haha, farrk the hoe and roof came up mint as! Gotta be happy with that!

Although once its all done, it'd be harder to get it all dirty again... :p Have to clean all around the pins just before you grease it up each time, ;)

Hows all the bushes and pins in the bucket, and hoe assembly?

What will you be using the beast for once she's all done?

Yeah im very happy with the paint the new lead free yellow paint doesnt cover as well as the old paint does, takes 6 coats to cover!!!! using a product called rocket in the enamel when painting its touch dry in 15min flat, I have less crap in my paint painting in the open air car port than what a local panel shop got in a tiny panel in my work ute. The top of the roof came up flawless not a single spec of crap in the paint.

As for the hoe bushes they are brand new pins & bushes I have just rebushed & pinned it all in induction hardened 4140.

I plan on builting a house at out farm so I bought the backhoe to build a 400m road, clear boundry lines for fencing, dig footings for the house & shed and anything else I can find to do with it.

I plan on getting it dirty, it will get scratched but I had to fix cracks in the body, & rust before it got too bad, I am doing the machine up to a standard that I wont need to do much to it for a very long time.

after the cabin gets painted hopefully this weekend or monday I have to get the sideshift working and rebuild 2 side shift locking rams then its onto doing the front axel bush & steering.

10.86:1 diff ratio
In 6th gear it does a mind blowing 24.4km/hr @2000rpm

Had a massive extra long weekend on "The Beast" Painted the body & the rest of the cabin, started putting it back together & working on a bit of wiring for a few extras

Started wiring in a isolator switch for the battery
worked out a cabin light
installed a 12v lighter socket
started the wiring for a flashing beakon
repaired more cracked body panels

I ran out of hardener & low on color so I couldnt do any more painting.

Been busy on the backhoe again Im motivated by my next car project awaiting me in the shed

Wired up Front & Rear work lights
Had an old CD play around to in it went
started fixing the lighting and other wiring problems
Front guard lights wired up fitted off and working
Cabin light in and working + roof mount cigarette lighter socket for the flashing light
Had to convert the indicators to flashing units & installed a flasher buzzer
Have the rear lights nearly ready to go till i realised i bought the wrong brake light unit so they will get ordered this week
Painted floor panels, fitted up new rubber covers for the clutch and brake pedals
Wired in a battery isolator switch
wiring looks a little messy as it isnt clipped off yet & test leads going every which way trying to bypass sections and find wiring faults

I bought myself a pair of new devilbliss sprayguns standard topfeed & a HVLP so I gave them a test out painting backhoe parts what a waste, sure beats stuffing up on a car though :)
