2007 SS-V Manual
Hi All,

This question has probably been answered plenty of times already.

I got a VE SSV L98 Manual with a CEL, ABS and ESC all on. When I scan the codes I get C1209 and C1234. I have spent a hour looking for the answer to these codes but I have found nothing solid. Does anyone know these codes?

Previously (about 6 months ago) I changed both rear speed sensors as the same problem happened which solved it. They were different codes at that time.

Cheers All.

C1209 = ABS Rear Isolation Valve Circuit Short To Ground

C1234 = Left Rear Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted

Possibly the Physical Sensor has faulted again.
or
The Plug has dislodged
or
The Loom has a fault.

Have you driven through any water recently?

I would be hooking the car up to a tech2 before believing those codes and throwing parts at it.
Some scan tools just don't give the correct codes on these VE's

No water, just started it one day and it happened. Loom would be the next thing to change on it. I’ll check the sensors tomorrow and make sure it’s plugged in okay.

FYI:

I found the following In the VE service Manual,
the codes are as follows -

Going by the reference codes in blue,
They go hand in hand.

A bit of investigating first.

What’s a Tech2?
A GM tool to read all fault codes on Holdens from 1996-2012

I have had 2 instances now where scan tools and the internet have said replace sensor when in fact they needed calibrating with the correct scan tool. EBCM controls a lot of sensors on the VE that is why I recommend the correct scan tool when it's a EBCM code and not a engine code.
