I agree. We need to be better than Friday night though. We need to go back to the unsociable football we were renowned for in 2008/2009. I don't care if half the team is suspended for the first 6 rounds next year, they need to let them know who the real heavyweights are.

In Hawthorn v Geelong, I think Clarkson got out-coached. Scott's strategy for the first quarter was to get numbers behind the ball, restrict scoring and let Hawthorn play their high possession, accurate kicking game. From the second quarter on, Geelong stopped having numbers behind the ball, made it a more contested game and Hawthorn struggled to change their strategy. I think the reason that Scott didn't start this way was because he knew his team couldn't sustain it for four quarters (i.e. Hawthorn were fitter and had the advantage of a week's break).
