Air filter prices

Like wiper blades, I'm staggered at the price of air filters for VEs. Standard Ryco stuff is $60-$65. I'm considering going K&N at my next service. Do K&N actually flow better or is it just a service benefit?

I use Western Filters. I could not pick the difference between it or the Ryco one previously installed.

Cost about $20-$25

Edit: I installed mine late last year. Bought Cabin and Airfilter from them. Now I see they only do Cabin filter.
