17's are as big as i would go on any older car (60's, 70's and early 80's.)
Chromies are horrid regardless of the car or age. And when the wheel is clearly WAY to big for the car, its just spastic.

Also my other pet hate is people getting around with 20" chromies on the front and 15" stockies on the back... It looks pov to say the least.

I agree that those chromed monstrosities look **** on ANY car, and particularly early models, but there are some oldies that can be enhanced if you go no further than say 17's, and the style of the wheel complements the shape of the car. Some factory designs that interchange with the oldies can really look good, but unfortunately, if we are talking about Holdens, the stud patterns prevent this. Fords get away with it because they have retained the stud pattern for so many years.

I often wonder why those chromed things are all so bloody ugly - there isn't a decent design amongst them. They belong on ricers, but even then, they still look shithouse.

Totaly agree
Its because they leave the stockies on because they do burn outs
They can only aford $20 tyres from the wreckers
And they can't aford to buy 20" tyres all the time
Or they can't aford the 20" rims
They just look like flipin idiots

Hahaha, it's too bad - that's a nice car until you look at the wheels.
