I agree 100%...I have a 82 Camaro and she looks good on 15" with BF Goodrich tyres, I've seen 16/17/18" wheels on earlier chevs and they look out of place.

Sometimes yes, other times no.
Chromies are a touchy subject, some look amazing and some look revolting.
No one tell me that this doesnt look good:

Yes they are and that is the worst looking XY I've ever seen in my life, someone needs to take a chainsaw to those wheels and then to the guy that put them on it. Anything bigger than a 17 looks a disaster on any car but on a old car it's just almost unbearable. 15 inch wheels are the most pleasing size to the human eye, maybe 14's on some oldies.

That Falcon reminds me of chassis setup wheels for rc cars lol

Big rims do not belong on old classics, end of story. Also cars from the 70's and 80's should not have anything above 16".

BTW that VH with 20"s looks a disaster, all it's missing is a "Size matters" sticker. Makes me sick.

I agree with no bigger than 17".
I used to have a HQ tonner that I wanted to do up, had the wheels picked out that I wanted too.
Would have looked awesome I reckon, although that's only my taste.. lol
But, with an all Matt Black body, Black powder coated chassis, polished Iron Bark wood tray back, and these wheels in 17"-

Oh well.. it's nice to dream..

To be honest that would have looked pretty bad. But it's all personal taste. Those 17" would not have looked any better then the 20's on that VH pic.

lol.. Yeah, it is about taste, at the time I had the tonner, all the car magazines only showed 15" or 17" as the smallest available sizes for XHP Scorch's, but I spose 15" would of been ok.
I have odd obsession with the colour black.. :p
