VF SV6 wagon
Hi all I’m looking for your help. Wife has a 2017 SV6 wagon with 200k on the clock. Have only had for less than 12mths & had a tight budget - hence the high kms.. Has good service history & drove well TILL she pulled up to a roundabout & had no drive . Thankfully she was able to put it into sports mode to exit the roundabout. She took it to have the auto serviced & afterwards the same thing occurred a couple more times, dropped it back off to the mechanics. He had only topped up the oil so asked for a auto service. Unfortunately after this was done all drive was lost from D, as was 1st gear in sports mode. Took it to an auto service centre who found multiple misfires with a P0300 fault code. They checked the wire between ECU & TCM plug which was all ok. They suspected the TCM maybe at fault & advised us to go to an auto electrician or old Holden dealer.
Haven’t picked it back up & from what I understand the P0300 fault is just a generic wide spanning fault code. Will pick it up Monday after work & am going to give the battery a charge which we replaced after buying the wagon… Has new tyres, will check or replace the spark plugs.
Just would like to know if anyone else has had this issue?
It was mentioned to me that there was a fault with some radios draining the batteries? Is why am going to charge the battery & clear the alarms first.
Thanks
Dave

Update for anyone who’s had VF Auto issues. We found 1 day the car would drive all ok & the next we would only have reverse, then 5mins later able to drive in sports mode…

Enter Rick Smith Motors in Horsham who replaced the Transmission Valve Body plastic shrunken balls & the Auto was back to normal functionality.

This was after taking it to a couple of mechanics prior. Thankfully our local auto electrician DC & TM Auto Electrics in Hamilton tested the auto & referred us to Rick as he suspected the above issue.
