Hey Everyone

I have a series 3 Statesman and I'm wanting to do a full Sound system on it. I was wondering when I replace the headunit will the antenna retract like normal or will I have to work out some way to retract it with a relay switch or something???

I have just done a full audio install in my statesman.....the aftermarket headunits (well new ones anyways) have a wire in the loom that runs to the power antenna so when your not listening to FM/Radio off the antenna automatically retracts, the only function you loose is the height control, its either full up or completely down you can't choose where it sits.

I have the factory power antenna connected to my alpine dvd deck and it only goes up when I select radio and retracts completely when I select cd/dvd or ipod. I never listen to radio anyway so the antenna doesn't get used much.

Will the volume and seek remote buttons on the steering wheel still work??

Does yours work?

No, you need an aftermarket adapter to interface with the remotes

just note if you do go for a CAT steering wheel addon, make sure the headunit you buy supports wired remote input.

also, most pioneer units DONT have a seperate antenna trigger wire, so it will go upwith power to the radio, and down when the radios turned off. make sure the unit you buy has the wire seperate to the amp trigger wire.
