Oh, so I've been going around all this time racing V6s at traffic lights thinking ima hero with my Series II! Hard to believe that badge is on a V6 without pics.

It's definitely a V6. :)

Yes that's definitely a 2006 V6 with some DIY badge engineered thing. Nothing authentic about that car. But I am possibly mistaken, thanks for clearing that up for OP, it is possibly an older style V-Spec badge (that looks like a V8 badge).
Yet to find official pics of V6 Calais V (without quad tips).

^^^ Holden did a value pack based on the Omega a few times which was badged "V" similar to how they used to bring out the "equipe" on occasion and before that the "vacationer".

OK, so value pack / vacationer / v-spec / V8 badge?!

I concur it is not a V8 badge:

Which explains why they are lukewarm at lights!

OP previous owner either stuck it on himself to look like an SSV else it is an SSV

ya mum!
FAR OUT!!! For a Commodore site some people really don't seem to get this.

The old red V badge is NOT a V8 badge. Never has been! Never will be!

Before Holden switched to incorporating the V into the badge, the V was a separate red badge as posted by the OP. And the Calais V definitely came in V6 form with the red V badge.

Here's one: 2006 Holden Calais VE V Sports Automatic

As Reaper has pointed out, they've also used it as a special edition with a few extra goodies over the standard Omega.
