Im in the same boat, just bought my SSV ute, and cant believe how quiet it is, who is a good installer in Melbourne for the Varex exhaust, and does the car need tuning after an exhaust mod?

Cheers,

I got an amazing price from him, then had it fitted when I did my cam etc.

carless for now
a cat back will beef it up just make the stock have a louder and slightly better note.extractors will make it way beefier but you need the rest to go with it. you couls easily get some 1 3/4 pacies twin 100 cpi cats and cut the resinator off and should be under 2k easily used

If you just want to improve the sound, then I'd replace your rear mufflers with some Varex like I'm running. You have the ability to have it loud when you want, or quiet when you want.

Check out my youtube posts ... but keep in mind I'm running 4 into 1 extractors, high flow cats, 3" cat back and a big cam and OTR etc ... so you're won't sound like this:

mate.... those videos gave me a chubby!!! :rofl2:

you really NEED to do a video of a drive by at revs.... ..

mmmmmmmmmm zorst porn!!! :yeah:

GXP Maloo
I'm in the same boat. I've got a 2010 GXP Maloo ute LS3. I want it to sound louder.
Can I just change the muffler to get a better sound? Or best off getting 3"X-force cat back? Or am I best just to do the cam? Do I need to get a dyno tune once done with any of the above.
Do you get more droning in Utes?
Cheers

you have 4 choices, either a 2 1/2 in catback from NAAF (if you go the whole catback system $1200 and it is a good sounding system) J pipes that will bolt in place of rear mufflers (20 min to fit yourself with a 15mm spanner, $350 I had them and liked them, burble and crackle on decel, and a good note on accel-this subjective though-sound like crap on a v6 j pipes | eBay )or straight through pipes (loud and drones lick hell) lastly exforce catback ($800 or so) you get what you pay for (i'm not keen on their sound-again subjective)
