Thats like saying the bunch of clowns doing skids in their VN V6's are Car Enthusiasts.

No that's not what I getting at any reasonable thinking motorcyclist , would not even contemplate doing what those guys did to the to the Range Rover driver , but sadly some do have that pack mentality.

well, when you decide to head to a city with some culture, you will see that melbourne laneways are the place to be.

Well, I hate cities and am fortunate enough not to live in one, but with any luck I'll be spending 11 weeks in Melbourne for ARFF training early next year so will hold you to your word :p

Might be awkward for me to take myself out on a date though.

It might be interesting to note that some of the patched members of various OMCG do not own a motorbike, have a motorbike licence or know how to ride.

The Bikie laws are targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs which engage in organised crime.

They have nothing to do with clubs and gatherings of enthusiasts who just meet up to ride bikes. Don't confuse the two.

I don't think it's the peaceful enthusiasts who are involved in the shootings in Melbourne around the southeast from the past week. See the story below, just an example from a 5 second google search.

These guys are like the new mafia so they're clever and hard to prosecute. The new, and somewhat draconian legislation that many states are bringing in is designed to make it easier to prosecute, and failing that give police extra powers to be a*seholes and make it harder for these guys to do business.

Anyone who thinks the legislation is designed to stop a few mates riding their Harleys down to get a coffee on a Sunday morning probably doesn't understand the situation.

In some centres in NZ they have introduced bylaws that make it an offence to wear gang insignia in town centres, this doesn't mean gang members are not allowed in town squares , but just they cannot wear their gang patches .

from 12:30 until 5:30 today, myself on a 2014 Softail Breakout, plus 5 others on new demo Harley's or late model Harley CVO's done this:

4 bikes in front, 2 limos in the middle and 2 bikes behind. We stopped at 5 houses through town, progressively filling the 2 limo's with a dozen elderly ladies (70+ years, eldest was 92) and escorted them 20km out of town for 'high tea' at a very picturesque venue. This was all filmed for an upcoming TV show about dreams coming true.

One Lady told me "this is far better than what winning Lotto would be". Truly a day these ladies will talk of for years to come.

Just saying; it's not the bike's, it's the people. what if these gang's all drove around in 4x4's or falcon's or Prius's. would the same stereotyping be going on?

Yes Harley's are attention grabber's and the cream of the crop. But clearly in the wrong hands this value is being exploited poorly.

Where's the stereotyping? Did you get hassled by the cops? We're you wearing gang insignia and performing gun and drug deals?

The cops know the difference, in fact most of these clowns have files as long as my arm because they're not shy about who they are and what they do. Someone said they're clever, I'd contend they're stupid, with big arse targets on their jackets, congregating in large numbers. The Mafia are smart, folk already seem to think they left town.

There's some serious gun jumping here.
