Our 2013 VE Z air cond. system has been playing up recently.
It will go sweet for a while, on any vent direction, but will randomly stop pushing air through the vents, while the fan remains going.
The car has been to a workshop and all actuators checked, the move from 0 to 100%
I am told it could need a software update, or the module maybe stuffed.
Any advice

Could be the HVAC Module playing up. My Cheap VE has a funny issue as the Front Face Vents wont open when you select them now and then (1 and 4 ratio). but ever since I gave the selector knob for all vents a run back and forth from left to right average fast for 20 times in 10 second with the Battery Disconnected the vents are working ok. See my cheap ve is a single Zone Air con and has a Rotary switch and if your car has the same as mine you could have the same weird issue. I have struck this issue with multiple rotary issue before on a switcher Box for video and audio stuff "EG" Missing video signal or Missing Audio somtimes. Now I dont know if you Ve 2013 uses the same technology but with the engine off select the vents and if you hear a Mechanical sound you could have the same type of selection like mine. Mine has been working ok for over 1 week now that a record for the cheap VE.
My one I did not re- learn anything for the HVAC Module, just re connect the negative on the Battery and its was a go.

Gee how much did it cost you to take it a Dealership or a another workshop just to check the actuators work from 0-100%.
Yes Fan running but the vents are closed.

It's a dual zone HVAC system

$180 to mess around with it and try to diagnose the problem
Money wasted, but got to start somewhere, it's getting damn hot now, summer

Step 1. When diagnosing a fault is never rely on the last persons fault finding. They failed to find it.

Actuators:

1. shows the location of the actuators.
Operate the various functions and observe what they are doing.

Forgot to post back, but we had the car fixed by holden back in Febuary.
So it seems the problem was not the actuators after all.
The problem is with the evaporator temp sensor.
After spending $660 on the car, it now seems to work like normal.

Now have to deal with a dodgy drivers door actuator

The sensors in some were installed too shallow in early VE’s. There is a tech fix for it.

While on the subject, my dash!!! started making clunking noises, so,spend bout 3 hours and finally found 2 problems;

1_ The rod controls the bottom flap popped out from the top actuator (pass.side)

2_ But the one that creates all the noise,was the hardest of'em all,,,the one on the side of the blower motor which controls the recirculating door..

Almost hardest the get it out as the driver side one..

And the fault was;
