Boot release broken, How do I open the boot to fix it?

so the remote should still work for another actuator?

Your only changing the motor not the PCM, yes it will work, sounds to me just needs tighten up or another earth point.. Wiggle the harness wires while pressing.

U can always adjust the catch on the boot till it pops..

ok, i grabbed an actuator and the boot latch from a wrecker.. wire and rod points are in good nick which i thought was a bargain $30, the motor works everytime, when i pull the manual cord it works this time, but not on the actuator, i'm wondering if the wire is too long can it be adjusted tighter, i've fastened the actuator motor at it's fartherest point

Are you getting power to the actuator when you press the button, does it make any noise? You said you had to pull on it to make it pop, so maybe the catch isn't right, might need to bend it up a bit.

yeah, the motor works everytime using the remote, but it isn't opening the boot, i was just saying the manual cord works this time because it didn't open the boot before

It must be tight on the latch, out of alignment stopping it from pulling back, is the arm moving back far enough to pop it? Your catch on the bottom the loop that catchers the boot mechanism must be the issue.

I've tested the mechanism while the boot is open using the remote, since, it actuates - clicks it open

I see where you mean now, i wonder instead of bending it up a bit can it be adjusted up, loosen the screws that holds it?
