Build sheets under carpet

After some thread mining, I finally found out what A8Z means... "Series one upgrade pack". A coincidence as the code appears several months before a Series II update on VP, VR and VS sheets.

The million dollar question is.... what changes took place? :hmmm:

Just checked 3 build sheets I have handy and all three have option A8Z, the earliest a VS V6 Executive dated 14/06/1995, latest is a acclaim 08/03/1996...


I think the Series 2 VS started around mid 96?? so would not have done any sort of Series 2 updates to a Series 1 model mid 95...

I have also seen A8Z mentioned as SALES PACKAGE EQUIPMENT LOW COST.... There would seem to be nothing special about any of the 3 that would be a low cost sales package except the acclaim (abs / twin airbags)....

cash paid for build sheets ... I must admit to being a "collector"... lol I also have a few thousand VINS in a private database... bout 80 thousand actually hehe...

Edit: ... not a joke... tell ya's 5c each + Postage (I'm still cheap )... If ya work for Holdens, smash repairs, junk yards etc... collect em up n send em down


Edit 2:... If anyone can manage 300 sheets at once... I will send ya a slab instead :beer chug:

I'd pay to see sheets from the Export models, especially unusual ones such as 4 cylinder VNs, VN/P GTS, Opel engine VPs, etc

Anyone have a build sheet from a VT or VX? Or know where they are located in the cars?

I took a trip to U-Pullit today but didn't get a chance to look in vt/vx commo's... Only ended up getting what I needed + 1 useable build sheet from a 95 VS Exec... and going back to post #221 the A8Z code is included on this sheet also... I suspect that it may mean Series 1.... I have been unable to get any Series 2 or 3 build sheets to check.. was annoyed the 3 other sheets I got I could not salvage...

I will now up payment for READABLE buildsheets from 5c a build sheet to 50c a sheet for exec / Berlina models.... 75c each for calais models... $2.00 each for a HSV one but you must send a written copy of the HSV Build plate... $5 each if hsv/hdt and you include photo's of the build plate / vin plate (tag) / hsv / hdt build plate....

I do have quite a number of the HSV VINS listed already with the build number etc on a database so please no b/s about your build sheets people...

so was this car for usa delivery? or just a test vehicle. im pretty sure all north american car vins start with 1...

All the USA GTO's had aussie VIN stickers inside the door - and yep this car went to the USA. The first "mule" GTO had no body number on it tho - it was a yellow car sent over for testing. I have a photo of it some place - where the VIN is normally in the front window it had some hand written VIN (from memory)
