Hi everyone

Looking at moving to next step and get the ute cammed. Not sure which cam to use.

I will be doing Tarmac Rally and need a good punch in low down to mid revs. Not to concerned with top end speed.

Looking at getting HSV 3.7 or possibly 3.9 diff gears

Any suggestions would be appreciated

As well as a installer in perth to do the Job

Regards

Glen

Hey Munz

Yeah i have spoken to Eddie before and he is really helpfull. I just wondering if anyone has a 6.0lt ute or sedan cammed with upgraded diff so i can get a feel for the difference. In WA of course :)

from what i have heard the 3.7 hsv diff is the way to go as the after market gears can whine , when i fitted my vcm 7 , they told me oh you will have to fit the 3.7 diff as it would make it a nicer car to drive .
but have found the stock ratio 3.45 fine that may change with time tho .

Yeah i have heard that but i really need the punch out of hard turns so not sure i will have to give a car with 3.7s in it and then see if it has what i need

I actually drive it to work each day but once a cage goes in in about a year and half it wont be road legal. So i think i will go as far as 3.9 diff gears with a good mid range cam. My mate a work reakons at 228/331 cam but im not sure if that is to big for rally and track work and the last ute he had he blew up on the drag strip lol :axe:

I have. VCM-7 cam (check with their website for the specs) with 3.7's in the diff, the take off is certainly more brutal with the gears and the cam kick in at around 3200rpm. If you are heading over to ADL let me know
