can you change back from a thick oil to thin?

Can you change back ie 10w-60 to 10w-30 or even a 5w-30 ?

Yes you can. So long as you use an oil flush and drop the oil while its still warm (not hot) also be sure to change the oil filter at the same time. If you just did a swap without changing the filter or doing a flush it will still be okay but the viscosity will be higher due to the old oil but still quite thin So I would recommend doing these things. Question tho, what on earth brings you to wanting to put such a thin oil into a Commodore I believe its only the really new cars that require such a thin oil. An ecotec may even smoke due to oil blow-by

It's in a ls1 I use castrol edge 10w60 and I find it a bit more noisy I've used liquemoly 10w40 and I thought that was quieter! It's got a few oil leaks At the moment but they are getting fixed soon so I thought I might go back to 10w40

Stick with oem specs an u can't go wrong eh.
