Which is a vote for Labor anyway. Haha! Well done!

But they will still work for things like getting rid of the filter.

I dont know how to take your posts, sometimes you say things very thought out and sometimes you really dont.

Have you read the Greens policies? If you had I seriously doubt you would be voting for them!

Well, sort of. Having a conference with all regional managers over video chat rather then they all hop on a plane and meet. There are always academic advantages to new technologies, even Stephan Hawking has talked about the best universities will be online.

We currently do video conferencing with an International logistics company, members from NZ, AU, US, Europe all conference in, not once have the speeds of our network here caused an issue.

There is more to to the internet than illegal downloads.

Not according to reasons I have seen posted for faster netspeeds.

A vote for Greens is a vote for Labor.

Worse, it could be a vote for a balance of power in the senate. The greens are fanatics, a vote for them means faster internet is pointless, as we will not have any power to power anything.

I think the Lib's idea is much easier to swallow then Labor's money pit; utilizing the private sector will enable Liberal to get better value for money, and much much less money wasted on Government "red tape". I also believe the governments NBN is flawed, give us 100mbs and then slow it down with a lovely shot with crappy internet filter! Fantastic idea!

Example - Exetel's NBN prices for data usage ($1.00 per GB) are higher than currently using common regional ADSL2+ providers. Under this pricing a 40 GB Blu-Ray image would cost $40 to download.

Delimiter – Exetel’s NBN pricing: Cheap as chips

Example 2 -On Internode's current 100 Mbps plans the cost of data usage ranges from $4 a GB to $0.70 a GB depending on how much you want to spend every month. For 100 GB monthly quota you will pay $99.95. On their Extreme ADSL2+ plans you would be paying $69.95 a month for 100 GB. If you were to use another ISP such as TPG you can get 180 GB usage for $49.99 a month.

NBN - Internode :: Residential :: Broadband :: Fibre To The Home :: NBN Plans
ADSL2+ - Internode :: Residential :: Broadband :: ADSL :: Extreme :: Pricing
ADSL2 Internet Unlimited Broadband, TPG provides Fast ADSL2+ DSL Connection

12 Mbs is defs the way to go. 12 Mbs converts to 1.5 megabytes per second, which is more than the 800 KBs max ive got now, and that 12 mbps is the minimum. while it would be good to have 100mbps on tap, its going to take to long, cost too much and labour probly wont even be in gov when its finished.

A vote for Greens is a vote for Labor.

Not really - The Greens will win many seats in the Senate this time round - as there is no other party to vote for. (no strong party) and the Nationals have been over run by the libs.

If you're well off, then you will probably vote Libs. if your a poor working family you will vote Lab.

I must say I fnd it disturbing how so many young people don't give a #### about any policies except for the broadband scheme. Its only internet ffs, my business is in ecommerce and I'm mangaing just fine and dandy with my adsl2. I don't profess to know a whole lot about computers but if we do get this superfast internet how many people's computers are going to be able to use the speed to its full advantage?I can see it now there will be a bogan computer update scheme next if labor get it. So much **** that needs to be fixed in this country and yet some people only give a #### about how fast they can illegally download **** and watch porn  Yes there are other legitimate uses but for the the amount of people that would be using it for productive things like video conferences it hardly seems warranted.

Who the #### would trust labor with something of this magnatude anyway this would be the mother of all ####ups that would make us laugh about the school halls and pink batts epic failures.

With regard to CSP's earlier comment that the size of Australia compared to Japan is a major factor in Japan's ability to install a high speed network, Japan would also have the advantage of spreading the cost over a much larger population than Australia, by virtue of taxation and the size of the consumer market connected to their network, wouldn't they?

In other words, comparing Japan to Australia is like comparing chalk and cheese. Our size and small population mitigate against the installation of such a costly network. To my thinking, a cheaper, less capable but still adequate system, makes more sense for us at present, provided that it improves what is already available here.
