I could fit a few more spanners if needed but i no more space in the roller for speciality gear. Stuff like my wheel bearing install kit. Plus i want a few more of those specialised tools. ATM i have things on the tool trolley because there is no where else for them. I could get my spray gear out of the roller, that would free up a deep drawer. Then i think where the heck do i put the painting gear??

I made a stand out of H iron and 8mm plate for my vice. I had it on a bench for years but then saw my bike mech had one on a stand. I love it because if you're on the hacksaw it doesn't wobble like an unfixed bench can. Also you get access all the way around if you place it in the right spot in your shed.
Just was thinking a little one right there for some smaller jobs .
Yeah got a good 6" swivel one with pipe jaws bolted to the built-in bench.
Also got a 6" dawn one which I just haven't bolted back on this over kill bench I've got. That bench literally weights a tonne; all steel 5 foot by 5 foot 1" thick bench top.
I need to get a parts washer, would I hope making cleaning parts so much easier.
So would love a hoist, I'd get a 4 poster , in some respects loose a bit more floor space but gain it back by being able to store car up high.

Parts washer is good but you need to degrease the parts to get most of the gunk off before dropping it in the parts washer or you end up contaminating the kero too quick. I drain my parts washer every now and then depending on use. I then wash out the bottom to remove any sediment, sometimes i will strain it through a rag or chux, before throwing the kero back in and then top it up with some new gear. That bench sounds awesome, BTW.

Yeah, my spray gun is in one section of the built-in bench/cupboards, thinking about it needs a clean out got stuff like a foot controller for a tig that's gone the way of the dodo . Had to get a new foot pedal to suit the new tig.
Actually thinking about it the garage needs a good clean up . Might be a job to get done hopefully, probably in reality in the next couple of months.

Yeah I have three good spray guns but i have another 4 or 5 that are old and broken. I used to think oneday i might find another one the same and the broken ones will make good spare parts. But I priced up a new Star the other week and i can get a suction gun for under 100 bucks. And I bought an eBay special gravity gun a few weeks ago and heck it works like a beauty. Like you afstruct it might be time for me to cull.... Trouble is i paid good money for the old gear and its hard to get scrap price on something that once held value...

Yeah got it with the 6" dawn vise and a little cast 18" brake press when I was still at home , they stayed in parents garage for years.
Got some 6" casters that I could bolt to legs when you needed to move it . Had to hire car trailer and winch it on to bring it up to newy. I can see myself just leaving at this place when I sell as hopefully I'm here until I'm going into a villa or unit or retirement village. Which is if life keeps treating me is many many years away yet. Lots more projects to hopefully do.

How important is an impact wrench to have. I'm fixated on having one but it's probably not that important ?

A great tool to have, but like some other tools- you wont need it til you need it.
I`ve never had a need for one besides convenience and even then found a way (home mechanic, not worried about time).
Last cpl occasions I could have used one was undoing seriously tight crank pulley bolts ( A Great Wall ute & a 96 Astra). I found the old breaker bar onto a chassis rail and the starter motor method worked quite well :D

Mine gets used at least once a month. It's not just cars you need one for undoing the crank bolt on a mower often requires a rattle gun. They are also useful if a bolt has a nut on the other side or vise-versa that is slipping and it's hard to get a spanner on it. The rattle gun can sometimes spin the nut or bolt off quickly enough that you don't have to have a firm grip on the other end.
