Convert a vy ss from auto to manual?

hey just wondering if anybody knows a rough price to convert from auto to manual?

wikky, thing is prices change.

vyssute01, what sort of setup were you thinking of getting? What gearbox? What clutch kit?

hey mate, prob not much help but i would *hazard* a guess at the 5 grand mark. You are probably better off selling your ute and buying a manual one if you can, in saying that, it can and has been done many times though.

For a T56 (What the SS's use) you can pick up a whole kit for just over $2k used. Then you just need a clutch and pressure plate (your pick). Plus fitting. Works out a bit cheaper than my conversion because you can use the V8 flywheel.

That's the 6 speed manual, definatly will go alright!

There is also changes to be made to the wiring & the tune. As stated earlier this is a common conversion that most decent shops would have done previously. It would be best if you pick up the phone & get quotes that way.

a friend was quoted around $2.5k for a manual conversion in a silvia. But it can be done for around $1.5k without labor if you know the right people. I'm guessing it would be cheaper for the Commodore.
