If it's for your VH, why have you posted in the VR/VS Section?

VS Exec 5spd
dizzy orientation doesn't matter at all.
what matters is that when the #1 piston reaches TDC on COMPRESSION stroke, the rotor will be pointing at the spot where your #1 spark plug lead will be.
as you're turning the motor over to bring it up to TDC, block the spark plug hole with your finger so you can feel it pressurising as the piston comes up the bore. then you know it will be TDC on compression.
otherwise you may still get #1 piston at TDC but will be top of exhaust stroke, ie. 180 degrees out.
once you have that you can just connect the rest of the leads around the dizzy cap following the correct firing order.

Thanks shifty , I put a small screw driver in the spark plug hole of #1 so I could feel the top of the piston so I know when it's at the top of its stroke

put you finger over the hole and turn it by hand until you feel pressure then continue turning until balancer timing mark lines up with 10 degree mark drop dizzy in with rotor pointing to number 1

Sorry, didn't notice the 304 injected in your ride description, also the picture didn't look like an EFI distributor to me. Check out the attachment for instructions on replacing your distributor.
