Hi all,
Looking at replacing my leaking aircon hoses on the VF2 SSV Ute and was wondering if the VF has a receiver drier at all?
I am used to the black cannister type and can't seem to find one on my car.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

I think it's an integral part of the condensor.

Thanks. So replacing lines means replacing condenser??
Not a smart design.
Or do people just wing it and not replace receiver drier after leaving the system open to atmosphere??

Yep, most manufacturers integrate the filter/dryer bag in the condenser tank along with a few dye pellets during build process. Seems to be the standard way of doing it these days.

But it is a serviceable item so the whole condenser doesn’t need to be replaced unless it leaks due to impact damage…

With in service vehicles, most ac service places don’t replace the filter/dryer. Admittedly the industry code only requires such to be replaced if the system has been open to atmosphere for more than 5 or 10 minutes. So may be it’s not always needed to change but it’s something I prefer to do every time the system is cracked open whenever a hose is removed.

The annoying part of this modern design is the front bumper should come off to do such filter/dryer changes which may be why many also prefer not to do it (saves on extra labour)…

Parts below

VE S1 (includes new seal, plug and clip) $59

VE S2 & VF (separate links but look identical, no o rings, clips, or plugs, just the bag) $30

(can’t be bothered to search for o rings, plugs or seals which should be replaced to avoid leaks).

It's not hard to remove a VE/VF bumper.
Even easier if you hook the bumper on a kerb, then hit reverse (follow me for more driving tips!).

Awesome info! Thank you all.
I'll be doing the labour, so will do it properly.
Cheers!
