Ok so I have the numberplates sorted, here goes.

I ended up using 3M outdoor mounting tape to attach the numberplates to the existing front plate mount and a rear plate mount from secureaplate. This mount has bolt holes for all sorts of models, and while a little off center, it still looks good.

Here are some pics of the engine back together, no more leaks.

Just spotted some bits I need to touch up on these pics.

In other news, one engine mount has run out of grease, so I will have to order a engine/gearbox mount kit soon. I am also pretty sure that the lower control arms are done, the rears seem to be new.. I am also have a pretty ordinary cold idle, but I will chase this when I change my mounts, will probably end up changing the coils.

Another pic for the hell of it

Drove this thing out to Wagga for my uni exams and got runn off the road in bad weather. The guy behind me was tailgating me to the point of not being able to see his headlights. I tried to pull over at a rest stop but didn't see the short exit lane before a sharp left turn and ended up in a muddy ditch. Here is the result.

The rear bumper actually came off clean in one piece, should be able to be reused.

The front shattered on impact. Damage to the AUX fan, radiator and shroud, as well as altinator air intake and plastic sections between the bottom of the bumper and the wheel wells.

Looks like the accessory belt needs replacing too

So the radiator had moved off its brackets and was a little leaky. I got some cable ties and put 2 in each corner so the fan wouldn't hit the shroud. I had to use some chemweld to get me home (and it did), so the next job is to get some parts and do a full flush of the cooling system.

On a more positive note I got myself an error code reader. I am using "Torque" on my S3 to read the codes over bluetooth. It looks like I have a missfire on Cyl1, so a new coil has been ordered for that.

Hey Hozy

Yep, not one of my better days.
I have a bunch of parts coming from Pelican.
Aux Fan
Radiator and shroud
Engine + trans mounts.
Front bar from MARS on ebay (cheap I know but all I can afford right now)
Ignition Coil (for my misfire)
Accessory Belt/Aircon belt

as well as some others

Stupid thing is that I should have just slowed down and forced him to pass. I am off to the US in a week and a half
for 5 weeks so this will all have to wait until I get back.

Ok

So after 5 weeks away in the States, I have a bunch of parts ready to go, as well as a car on stands.

I have a long list of parts but here goes.

Front Bumper
Aux Fan
Radiator and Shroud (also got the BMW tools)
Fan clutch
Engine and Trans mounts
Aircon and Alternator belts
Timing Chain tensioner
Ignition Coil for Cyl 1 as I had a miss
Sump Gasket
Stainless brake line kit

Sorry for the crappy pics but night time work and S3 = average photos. Serious work starts tonight.

Ok so I got the radiator out.

Next on the list is to clean it all up, replace belts, engine mounts and trans mounts while I have easy access, hope to have a few more things done tonight. I also have to try and flush as much of the chemweld out of the cooling system as possible before I put the new radiator in. Have lots of demineralised water and fresh coolant ready to go in.

Further progress.

Changed out the engine mounts last night. As expected thay were well and truly shot.

I also have removed the front bumper cover as well as the bumper as I get ready for the AUX fan. Again sorry about the quality of the pics.
