This doesnt really bother me but it does work on my car which is a 2011 WM caprice

The useless Haynes manual (well some of it is useful I guess)
  1. Switch the ignition On.
  2. Press the Trip button until the centre display indicates Oil Life percentage.
  3. Press and hold the Reset button for more than 2-seconds. The display will now show Oil Life Remain 100-Percent.
  4. Switch the ignition Off.
But good luck with that...
My method was Holding down Trip + Enter + ignition ON + Pumping accelerator 3 times to floor and it resets to 100% on the spot.
Trip + Enter takes you straight to Engineering Mode/Oil Life. So, holding down Trip could just be a shortcut, or actually needed to reset - haven't tried without it yet.
When I wasn't broke, the mechanic always reset it.

Seeings the oil life feature isn't used in Australia then doing a service without resetting it is doing everything properly.

Or would you prefer we adjust your headlights to suit American roads?

No, but you get an annoying chime every time you start the car telling you to reset it because it's hit 0%. If you're like me and others where the press pedal 3 times trick doesn't work it becomes soooooo annoying.
