Just fitted my new rockers and I have a rattle after the revs drop down. I haven't driven it yet. Revving it quickly up to maybe 3.5k in park, then once it drops back to idle you hear a rattle that lasts 2-3 seconds and then quiet again. I don't know if I had this before as i don't normally rev the engine up in park. Any ideas and if it is something to worry about?

It seems to be idling at 1000 revs too.

I’d rip of rocker covers as first port of call and have a look make sure everything looks good and nothing loose

Just add when you give it some revs the noise goes away. It's almost like it's low on oil pressure.

I did tripple check all the rocker bolts and all were torqued to spec.
I will add i had two leads switched on the pass side but i quickly sorted it.
Could have blown something which is now making it idle high?

ive Only mucked around with v8’s and have always had to add shims or change rod lengths, did you check clearances winding motor over by hand after torquing to spec

There was no clearance the, rockers go down all the way onto the rods. The kit did not come with shims. The rockers are not adjustable.
I will slip the passenger cover off tomorrow. The drivers side is a bastard to get off and back on again. RACT wasn't sure but he said it sounds like cam.

It goes heaps better. But the rattle certainly is concerning. I don't know if it was there before, or started after i fitted the rockers.
