have clocked just over 1000ks so gave the ute its first oil change.
built some ramp extensions to make the job a bit easier and they worked well .
oil i used was 5-30 nulon which i brought on special from autobarn $29 per 5 liters
only thing i thought odd when changing oil filters the one i brought for it and fitted was a acdelco ac092 which is the correct p/n filter in the delco catalog.
the filter i pulled off the motor was a pf48?
oil was very clean with just a few small metal specs which is normal for a new engine wearing in .
cheers all

i either buy nulon or penrite oils so if ones on sale i buy that brand and save a few dollars ,
as long as the oil meets the manufactures specs i,m happy to use nulon oil .
i know some people say use brand x and dont use this brand its crap ect ect
but i think any good brand oil that meets required specs are fine to use

I used Nulon Fully Synthetic 5w30 with Ryco filter at 4,000km, now has done over 8,000 km. It is perfectly all right for interim services. I couldn't see any metal specs as the original oil came out blackish. I made a ramp extension to get on the 1000 kg ramp. Didn't like to take the chance on lesser ramps.

PF48 is just factory fitted part that is superceeded by pf48e and ac092 here...
You can't even buy pf48 from holden. They are an American part...

You could buy the PF48 here up until about 12 months ago when the introduced the E version. I have cut both apart and the E version is made of plastic internals and the other is metal.

Thanks PA38, common sense really, I googled so many ramp extensions and found none of them are quite "safe" as they hook onto the ramp, up in air and rely on the strength of welding. The one I made, solid timber sits flat on the ground, latches onto the ramp to keep it in place and costs near nothing to make as there are so many leftover timber at building sites. Tradesmen usually burn those timber to keep warm in the winter mornings.

thanks for info re oil filters, good to know why the pf48 was on there and not available here .
ramp extensions make the job a bit easier, i,m a first class welder by trade so rather than buy chinese extensions i made my own.
