well i have never the knowledge or tools to do a piston swap so id have to send the bottom end to a shop to have it all done. anyone have a rough cost and time frame id be looking at if i did that?

all depends on your builder. if you go proper-proper could cost you 2500 if you just get the very basics it could cost 1000.

last time i got mine done

zero deck: 340
balance: 270
bore and hone: 230
hot tank 50 bucks
conrod resize 116
crank grind: 140
fit pistons to pins: 45
fit cam bearings: 45

Yeah I know that, But i figured I'm just making work for myself by saying it like that :p

At least If I say the crank has to come out, we don't end up with "My engine is seized and my valves are bent afte rebuild" threads.

What you don't reckon you would get people trying to rebuild motors without pulling a crank out if they don't have too?

I've seen some really stupid **** done before mate. Most of it by qualified mechanics. So what joe blogs does.... I don't even want to think about.
