It still drives.

Think I have a bent rim, so getting the set looked at and hopefully be repaired.

Otherwise the bonnet struts gave up the ghost. Got some replacements.

All installed, they did the trick.

Rims turned out to be fine, may be tyres giving me vibration through steering? Since the rims are all good I am getting the gutter rash repaired and rims repainted satin black for something different.

Otherwise re-trimmed the inserts in the door cards with the same black velour as everything else.

This is pretty simple and straight forward. Remove the metal nuts and the clips holding the insert in. Then peel the old fabric off, take care with the foam underneath. Finish off with your new fabric.

Good old photobucket, that is going to take some time to fix.

Anyway...

Scored a HSV steering wheel, spent a bit much but it is in excellent condition.

Also bought new black steering wheel controls. I switched over the blue lights, here is some bits of the pieces.

Cheers, I am very happy with it.

...

I thought I would post up these photos as I could not find anything similar when I was looking.

VY Steering Wheel back

From what I read only the top spines need to be filed down when putting a VY wheel on a VZ. But I went the whole hog and made all five spines on the new VY steering wheel the same as the old VZ one.

Not much has been happening on the car just maintenance. Needed some tyres, a new battery and headlight bulbs.

Latest news is I got my garage floor redone.
