Hard braking in a manual

When I brake hard I feel a jolting feeling through the pedal. I never felt this in my Dads 2010 Calais thats auto. What could this be, is it a saftey system that put in place ?

Might be, its not a nice feeling and doesnt feel safe.

+1 on abs kicking in. I was like wtf the first time I felt it too.

yeah it feels like a shudder comming through the pedal. it might feel weird but its safer than the alternative

+1 for ABS. My VZ used to do it all the time and I kept thinking something was fugged.

I used to describe it as pressing the brake and feeling like there was a large stone caught between your shoe and the pedal.

+1 for scary brakes hopefully a much needed brake upgrade will sort that out, i find the ve brakes unsafe to say the least
